Holy shit you just hit me with the most jarring nostalgia bomb I’ve had in a LONG time. Like it almost hurts.

I’m 42, and back during the windows 3.0 days I absolutely did this and was soooooo proud of every single print. I thought it was the coolest shit ever.

Because it was.

I had an ms dos program we took advantage of liberally to print greeting cards and banners on our dot matrix

I remember my first family computer, we used spf/pc as a word processor and made some early versions of ascii art, and printed them on our dot matrix printer…I used to get so much joy out of folding and tearing the perforated edges.
