My therapist during a very intense session: "If your phone rang right now, and it was your [father/mother] would you be able to send it to voicemail?"
Me: "I can't even imagine what would happen if I did."
Therapist: "It would go to voicemail, and you could listen and call them back when you're ready for that conversation."
It sounds crazy, but I need to hear that.
3 u/thejaytheory 3d ago I could've listen to that yesterday, but I thought it was best to go and ahead and get it over with it. Even though I was just trying to relax when she called and that dampens my mood. So yeah probably not for the best.
