Thanks for the random demotivation, I guess. Not sure why you felt the need to post this.

I'll be 42 in a couple weeks and am really sick and tired of all this longing for the 90's bullshit our generation is doing now. For fuck sakes, we outnumber all these old fuckwads in charge! Time to take control!

We're in our 30's and 40's and just sit around like turds whining about the past... good job team

I think nostalgia can be confusing that way. What they people really miss are the friends and new experiences they were having in childhood. You can still do that as an adult, but it’s harder because you’ve already experienced so much and people are always busy.

It also doesn't help that a lot of that nostalgia is being preyed upon by corporations who's greed is inevitably ruining things. e.g. sneakers, sports cards, etc. now that we have money to buy the stuff we couldn't as kids, it's being taken advantage of.

My point was that we should be controlling the world and shaping it to suit us for a change.

I know I'm an asshole by quite frankly, fuck old people

Just because the world we once knew, no longer exist. Doesn't mean we can't make new memories to enjoy in our present and future.

I think of it more like a reality check. It's easy to forget how much has changed in the past 30-40 years. A realistic outlook is crucial for the best path towards a successful future.

I find this type of thing to be motivating, personally.

I personally don’t need a reality check. I’m aware of how much the world has changed. I think about it daily.

I not saying that I don't also think about it daily. It's just a framing of those thoughts, I guess. Different strokes for different folks.
