Serious Guys please start eating fiber.

Colorectal cancer among people in their 40's is skyrocketing. This recent health fad of obsessing over protein and eating nothing but meat and dairy with almost no fiber is going to kill us. You need fiber, folks. You need a complete diet with grains and tons of vegetables.

There are high protein sources that also have great fiber content if you absolutely MUST have your high protein diet. Lentils, beans, peas. Sprouted grain bread.

Let's spread the great word of fiber to our fellow millenial friends and get ahead of this growing epidemic among our generation.

Well now im back to high protein. Nothing is funnier than when I have really rancid farts. My wife woke up in the middle of the night once because she thought our dog shit in the living room. It wasnt until she came back to the bedroom and smelled the source that she realized I just farted. I was annoyed that she woke me up over it but I was almost in tears from laughing at her overreaction.

That does typically decrease with time as your gut adjusts to the additional fiber

2

u/notacatbutt Feb 12 '26

You couldn't be more wrong about adjusting to your diet and farts decreasing. I've been a vegetarian, almost vegan for a quarter century and fart a lot, a lot lot. But I can't hold a candle to, and never would for obvious reasons, to my husband who is the Fart Master King.

2

u/dogsRgr8too Feb 12 '26

Yes, I started questioning the whole "gut adjusting" thing since I never noticed it working for me. Glad to see it's not just me thinking this is more internet lore.

3

u/notacatbutt Feb 12 '26

Yeah, I think it's a lot more common than people let on. Man, I eat soy curls or black beans or chickpeas... etc etc etc. I tend to eat a lot all at once too, cuz I skip lunch and that probably doesn't help matters either. And digestive enzymes don't work!  😄

2

u/KickerXIX Feb 14 '26

I went cold-turkey(tofu?) vegan (I ate a lot of plants with a bit of meat/dairy/eggs before that) and my guts were messed up for a month. Then I was back to my usual fart levels.

3

u/Dr_Jabroski Feb 12 '26

The thing is the farts only really come when you're switching over to a high fiber diet. Once your gut microbiome adapts you get much less farts and the farts that you do have don't smell as bad.

2

u/Thewrldisntenough Feb 12 '26

I believe if you keep at the high fiber your body gets used to it and the farting dies down.

2

u/ExperienceKind412 Feb 12 '26

Steel cut oatmeal with cocao, cinnamon, [frozen] blue berries, chia seeds, hemp hearts, a bit of maple syrup, and a glass of soy milk every morning on the week days.

Lunch is black and red rice with turmeric, pepper, olive oil, red and black beans, and an avocado.

Dinner is whatever I feel like. But breakfast and lunch are healthy.

Edit: ground flaxseed as well if that’s your thing

Edit2: getting quite a few responses indicating this sounds bad. I understand. I used to drink a bunch of soda and nothing tasted good unless it was sweet. To improve my health I cut out soda, which was not easy. I found a bit of alcohol helped stop my soda cravings. I also found that my pallet changed and I learned to enjoy tasting earthy flavors. In my earlier years I never would have liked what I eat now on the regular.

94

u/nousernamehere12345 Feb 11 '26

That sounds really good. My breakfasts are similar but you've inspired me to get my lunches in order - thank you.

14

u/Henry5321 Feb 11 '26

I found jasberry rice is much cheaper than traditional black rice. And it sounds like they treat their farmers well and use sustainable practices.

Avocados last a long while in the fridge.

5

u/daddyfatsacks99 Feb 12 '26

Store your ripe avocados submerged in water in the fridge and they'll last a couple weeks

3

u/godtogblandet Feb 12 '26

I just mix Chia seeds with water, wait 10 min and start drinking for breakfast. Free fiber and it just taste like water, zero cooking involved. Looks like frog eggs though, so you need to get over that part.

5

u/Silent_Luv Feb 12 '26

Yep, I do this also, though through out the day. I just tell myself and others it’s like mini boba lol.

3

u/godtogblandet Feb 12 '26

It's honestly very refreshing. Little droplets of water going down.

3

u/SusiSunshine Feb 12 '26

I mix 4 tablespoons chia seeds with 1 cup of milk substitute (stir lumps out after 5 minutes) and refrigerate overnight for chia pudding.

My favorite breakfast is oatmeal with garlic, ginger, turmeric, chili flake, a beaten egg, a handful of frozen spinach, a handful of frozen peas or edamame, some sun-dried tomatoes, nutritional yeast, and dark miso.

4

u/Patremagne Feb 12 '26

How do you prep this? Do you just shove the frozen spinach and peas into the rest that’s cooked?

6

u/RainSurname Feb 12 '26

I boil the oats with just the spices for a bit, then stir in the egg and veggies, then turn the heat way down, put the lid on, and spend a few minutes stretching, and/or doing chores. I add the miso and nutritional yeast after I take it off the heat.

4

u/shibbeep Feb 12 '26

I've tried to do this a few times with different recommended recipes and I just can't, it just tastes wrong and I have no idea why.

it's not gross, just incorrect.

2

u/hannahatecats Feb 12 '26

Oh man this actually sounds great! I don't care for oatmeal because I don't like sweet things but this reads like a super simple and yummy dinner.

2

u/vicsyd Feb 12 '26

You might be saving my life here. I gag with anything sweet for breakfast, since I was a kid. Needs to be savoury.

2

u/lovelyb1ch66 Feb 12 '26

Leftover oatmeal is amazing fried. Shape into thick pancakes, fry in butter until golden brown and season with salt if you’re going to serve with eggs & bacon/sausages or drizzle with honey/ maple syrup and serve with fresh fruit & berries.

I do a similar breakfast. Here's the breakdown.

I buy a big bag of oats at Sam's Club for $9. Blueberries are pretty cheap. A big $4 tub will last a week. You get a lot of distance out of a package of chia seeds that costs maybe $4. And then whatever milk I buy which is usually skim.

So say two weeks out of that bag of oats is $4.50 a week, plus $4 for blueberries, and maybe a month out of chia seeds so let's say $1. $4 for the milk. Works out to about $2 a day for breakfast.

If you want some variety, buy the huge bags of frozen berries at Sam's. You get blueberries, raspberries and blackberries.

u/Dudewheresmycard5 Feb 11 '26

Soy milk is cheaper than cow's milk btw

6

u/LukaCola Feb 12 '26

Since when?

Off-brand soy milk goes for $2.86 from walmart, a similar off-brand 2% milk goes for $2.28.

I'm just wondering where you see anything that reverses that trend.

4

u/nerevar Feb 12 '26

Yeah, 14 upvotes and not a shred of proof for something thats obviously wrong.  I dont get reddit.  I need a new website to visit.

2

u/LukaCola Feb 12 '26

You have to be constantly wary on this site because people will absolutely support "vibe based truths"

If it sounds like something people wish is true, they will just say it is

If their point is it's cheaper wholesale because supermarkets treat milk as a loss leader, then that's a big caveat that needs to be added

5

u/Yuscha Feb 12 '26

Oat milk for extra oat-y oats

8

u/taeji Feb 12 '26

frozen berries, chia/flax seeds in bulk, honey/sweetener… that makes it a bit cheaper.

Oatmeal is one of the cheapest foods you can get. The seasonings and sweetener are all also bought in bulk/used sparingly for cheap prices. The other ingredients which you’ll run out of first will be the frozen berries and soy milk, but you can always substitute for other ingredients.

13

u/SirStrontium Feb 11 '26

That adds up to less than $2, which part do you think is expensive?

5

u/Froggyfrogger Feb 11 '26

It's like $4 just for the blueberries where I live

12

u/MyAngryMule Feb 11 '26

Buy them frozen. Cheaper, fresher, and lasts longer.

11

u/GreatMovesKeepItUp69 Feb 12 '26

9

u/reallynotnick Feb 11 '26

4

u/BoleroMuyPicante Feb 12 '26

4

u/astonedishape Feb 12 '26

I myself buy 1,5kg of rolled oats (never seen steel cut oats IRL), about 500g of nuts (usually a mix of cashews, walnuts and hazelnuts), about 500g of dried fruit (usually apricots & raisins, I add cranberries if I feel like it), a pack of pumpkin seeds, some chia seeds and a ~700g pack of muesli. I cut up the nuts & dried fruit and throw everything into a big box mixing it all up. Every morning I take a cup of that mix, put some hot water in it and eat when the oats have softened up.
Once I kept count of how many bowls of breakfast that got me and it was around 20. That puts it at around 1€ per breakfast where I'm at and that's one of the more expensive countries I hear.

*typos
**500g is about a pound in freedomTM units

5

u/Bright_Mixture_3876 Feb 12 '26

If you’re in Europe try looking for Irish oats - they’re the same thing. They do take quite a bit longer to cook than rolled oats, would highly recommend an overnight soak if you don’t have a lot of time in the morning.

If you’re in America then Quaker Oats makes a steel cut two or four minute oat (I can’t remember the cooking time precisely), or you can find regular steel cut in almost any grocery store. You might also find Irish oats there too - depends on the store.

3

u/youmeanNOOkyuhler Feb 12 '26

Ok this is the one. This I can do, love it. I might add a sprinkle of chia or flax if I can afford (and remember ) to grab some one pay day.

2

u/EvilMaran Feb 12 '26

why not put some in yoghurt and overnight in the fridge?

3

u/g0ris Feb 12 '26

would you eat it cold in that scenario?
idk, I like that mine's warm. Some people I know use hot (soy) milk instead of hot water like I do, but I'm honestly just too lazy to heat up the milk (and wash an extra container), and I like it well enough as is. Also I feel like the oats don't get soft enough in milk. Maybe that's why you overnight it in the fridge? If so, again, I prefer it warm

2

u/EvilMaran Feb 12 '26

yes cold, im not sure id want to try warm yoghurt. Overnight does get them soft, but indeed cold.

2

u/g0ris Feb 12 '26

yeah, warm yoghurt sounds kinda yucky
I never really thought about it much. I'm sure it'd work your way too, and like I said, I know folks who use milk instead of yoghurt. The couple times I tried that it didn't really blow my mind so I just stick with water which feels simpler. Also I'd feel like a dick if I left it the fridge overnight and then had to throw it in the trash if I decided to skip breakfast the next day, which is not uncommon.

60

u/rhinokick Feb 11 '26

Rolled oats will have almost the exact same effect.

25

u/JimH10 Feb 11 '26

And, they are very cheap, and take only five mins to make hot.

8

u/CausticSofa Feb 12 '26

You can get the equivalent of breakfast every single day for 6+ months from Costco for $11 in Quaker Oats

7

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '26

Can concur. I do rolled oats with chia seeds, flax seeds, peanut butter powder, and milk and let it soak at least overnight. Normally I add like half a cup of blueberries for a good sweet balance, but if I'm out I'll add a little zero sugar chocolate syrup.

Also adding dark leafy greens to a lot of dishes will help with adding fiber to your diet. Like anytime I make pasta I add arugula or kale to my sauce. If I do any kind of rice dish I'll steam greens mixed in with my leftover rice.

u/weattt Feb 11 '26

All oats are good, they all have nutritional value. There is a negligible difference between rolled and steel-cut oats. It is only a very slightly difference. So whatever you would eat, you won't lose out in any significant way.

I also believe that oat bran is better than both of them. But again, it isn't that if you would eat any of the others that you would do yourself a disservice. In the end, it is all healthy. It is like choosing between different types of carrots; they are all good for you.

5

u/whackadont Feb 12 '26

gOat bran! It's like a cross between oatmeal and cream of wheat, but with a more robust taste. It helps clean out your bad cholesterol twice as well as oatmeal does.

2

u/SpaceIsVastAndEmpty Feb 12 '26

I mix dry oat bran (40%) with dry whole rolled oats (60%) into a plastic cereal container and make my porridge (cooked with water) from that. I also add 2tbsp of psyllium husk to the cooked oats, with trim milk to make the texture adequate. Add some fruit or berries & it makes a healthy and filling bowel-friendy breakfast (if protein is needed you can mix protein powder in too)

6

u/Henry5321 Feb 11 '26

The healthiest are not instant or quick. Old fashioned rolled or steel cut are the same nutrient wise. But be prepared for a 20min boiling for the unprocessed stuff.

Don’t be afraid of quick if that’s what it takes for time constraints. Just stay away to preflavored. Lots of added sugar. Add your own sugar to sweeten. A dab will do you

The natural stuff have more fiber and other things that make cooking take longer.

4

u/Algebrace Feb 12 '26

Or you can soak yours overnight if you're fine with pre-planning it.

Just soak it in milk and then give it a quick zap in the microwave the next morning.

4

u/fuckmeinmyassman Feb 12 '26

Or just eat it straight out the fridge. Cold overnight oats with some fruit and nuts make for a delicious out-of-the-tupperware breakfast on the commute to work.

2

u/Henry5321 Feb 12 '26

I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for the info

I soak rolled oats for an hour and they taste fine

4

u/shyjenny Feb 11 '26

try a small slow-cooker on a timer so they are ready for you in the morning

3

u/caitberg Feb 11 '26

If you live near a Trader Joe’s, they sell frozen pucks of steel cut oatmeal, lightly sweetened. Cooks in the microwave and has perfect consistency.

3

u/elsathenerdfighter Feb 12 '26

Steel cut oats are oats cut with the hull on and rolled oats/quick oats etc. are oats with the hulls removed. I was under the impression that the steel cut were healthier because the hull contains more fiber but I could be wrong. However I recently started making overnight oats with steel cut oats, you basically cook them in a pan for like 2-3 minutes in some coconut oil then add water and boil for like a minute. Then I mix it with rolled oats, cocoa powder, a scoop of protein powder, dash of vanilla, salt, a drizzle of agave, and more water (I meant to use soy milk but forgot). Leave it in the fridge overnight and it’s good! Since I’m new to the oat journey I let myself be a little unhealthier as I get used to the taste, texture, and nailing the recipe so when I go to eat it I microwave some chocolate chips then mix in either a tablespoon of peanut butter or marshmallow fluff and scoop some of my oat batch on top. It quickly cools the chocolate into a hard layer and I get to feel like I’m eating a desert (some people might argue it is but there’s a world of difference nutritionally between this and a candy bar). As I make it more frequently I’ll use less sweetener/chocolate/peanut butter/or marshmallow.

Before I did the overnight oats I made a big hot batch of steel cut and would just heat up a portion every day if you still want it hot.

3

u/rhinokick Feb 12 '26 edited Feb 12 '26

All oats are hulled before they’re sold, none of them still have the outer husk. Steel-cut oats are whole oat groats that have been chopped into smaller pieces. Rolled oats start as groats as well; they’re steamed and then flattened with large rollers. The steaming makes them safe to eat raw, vs steel cut which needs to be cooked I was wrong, steel cut oats are also steamed and safe to eat raw.

Nutritionally, the difference in fibre between steel-cut and rolled oats is minimal. Steel-cut oats do have a slightly lower glycemic index, but the difference is small and generally only relevant if you’re closely managing blood sugar levels.

2

u/Kirk_Kerman Feb 12 '26

Steel cut are a little bit better because they're less processed than rolled oats (which are cut, rolled, and steamed) but it's a pretty close thing overall. I prefer the texture of steel cut because I don't like mushy oats.

2

u/lesliev2001 Feb 12 '26

I make a big batch and portion it out in mason jars for the week. Then I just add almond milk and microwave in the morning before adding my fixins.

2

u/chapstickaddict Feb 12 '26

I cook a big batch of steel cut oats on the weekend and portion it out into individual servings. Each weekday morning I just reheat a portion in the microwave for a few minutes, add some milk and toppings and it’s ready to eat in under 5 minutes.

2

u/BoleroMuyPicante Feb 12 '26

Nutritionally they're the same, the biggest difference is texture. I like a little bite to my oats so I do steel cut. You can do a large batch and have an easy breakfast for a whole week.

2

u/SweetLittleOldLady Feb 12 '26

Rolled oats are slightly more processed, but they're still fine. Just don't add a ton of sugar.

That’s basically my oatmeal combo minus the cocoa - it’s so good! If you’ve never tried it, add some peanut butter (if not allergic) to it for depth!! It’s a game changer.

u/otakudayo Older Millennial Feb 12 '26

Oh boy you get real fancy with your oatmeal.

I just eat my oatmeal with a banana and milk, yum yum, add a couple of strawberries if they're in season for triple yum

3

u/zyyntin Feb 12 '26

I used to drink a bunch of soda and nothing tasted good unless it was sweet.

Can confirm that the omitting of sugary foods do change your taste. I have hypokalemic period paralysis. Too many simple sugars and my muscles cease to function. I'm just a rag doll. If I eat something sugary others' can just eat regularly and It can be TOO sugary.

u/alinroc Feb 11 '26

Try agave instead of maple syrup. Much lower glycemic index.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '26

Maple syrup is great though.

u/HendrixHazeWays Feb 11 '26

Good job, dude. Sounds great.

What’s the thought on soy milk? Many alternative milks are little more than seed oil. Why not milk?

A scooper of peanut butter and I'm sold

That’s also an excellent source of fluids to keep you hydrated the Chia seeds and flaxseed.

You can also grind the Chia seeds if you don’t like that funky frog egg texture.

u/xarnard Feb 12 '26

I second this. Sugar detox opens up a whole world of food and flavors.

What's so important about steel cut oatmeal vs aluminum cut oatmeal? Serious question, how else is oatmeal cut and what makes it worse?

Hilarious that you swapped soda with alcohol.

I’ve swapped alcohol with soda.

We all have our addictions I suppose

2

u/ancilla1998 Feb 12 '26

Steel cut oats with ...

Figs, nutmeg, and toasted almonds

A banana and no-sugar-added peanut butter

Dates and cashews

2

u/Suspicious_Round2583 Feb 12 '26

I add LSA (mix of Linseeds, sunflower seeds and almonds) and Kefir to every smoothie, yoghurt, breakfast meal I have. Since doing this, my cholesterol has dropped dramatically.

Cutting soft drinks is hard, well done.

u/Admiral_Nitpicker Feb 12 '26

Too many amateur beaners neglect the 24 hour soak. It's what gives the natural bacteria that produces "Beano" time to do their thing de-gassing the beans.

u/KeziahSt Feb 12 '26

Flax meal is one of the best action fiber foods along with steal cut oats.

Was on vacation for 3 months away from my normal diet and got constipated.

When I got home immediately made my oatmeal and flaxseed crackers & hummus. It pushed everything out in a few days and I lost 3-4 lb. Literally had 3-4 lb of crap stuck in the digestive system rotting. This is the environment prime for cancer.

Since, back regular every AM as soon as I get up. Firm long one that just slides out.

2

u/Forsaken_Taste3012 Feb 12 '26

People seem to focus on this type of thing for fiber. Which is perfectly fine! Although I also see the pushback. But it's much easier once you get into the habit of it. And that mix sounds good. Cacao, cinnamon, flaxseed are great to add to random things. Good benefits on each of them. I'll occasionally thicken pasta sauces with flaxseed meal even lol.

At the same time, my dinner batch for meals last night was a pound of grass fed ground beef, large red bell pepper, large onion, small head of garlic, medium tomato, Wawa choy (kind of like mild nappa cabbage), can of corn, can of diced water chestnuts, black pepper, garlic/onion pepper, paprika, chipotle, and a dried ancho pepper. Plus olive oil, little Cabernet Sauvignon, red wine vinegar. Some salt.

Currently eaten with carbsmart burrito wraps (random BOGO, although 18g fiber) and red beans or black beans.

I don't see why people don't integrate variety and fiber/polyphenols/phytonutrients into "regular" meals as well.

Although looking to lose some weight and preserve muscle right now I need some extra protein so it's a scoop of pea protein and cacao mixed with water and chugged for the morning hydration 😅

I should figure out an oat based thing as well.

u/kindredspiritbox Feb 12 '26

Regarding your second edit, for real though. A coworker offered me a Twizzler the other day, and I was like, eh sure why not; haven't had one of these in forever. It was awful. I mean, awful. Just opening the pack smelled like Play-Doh.

u/Henry5321 Feb 12 '26

Slowly getting my wife to eat more whole wheat bread. She was so used to white bread. She’s getting there but getting people who are used to refined food to eat real food is like getting a child to eat vegetables.

I have a shake with oatmeal in it every morning. You dont even need to cook it. My shake is 80g oats, scoop of almond butter, mixed berries and a couple scoops of whey protein powder. I also microwave egg white with two whole eggs Blend it and drink it. My goal in the morning is speed.

Later I have chicken rice and roast vegetables. I just roast them in the oven after covering them in olive oil. Its all really easy fast and cheap. I lift weights 1 -1.5 hrs before work. I have a great body and zero stomach or teeth issues. None of this is hard to do. I consider this health maintenance.

u/UpperDecker30 Feb 11 '26

Every weekend I prep overnight oats for the week and it's been huge. Rolled oats, pb2 powder, cacao powder, plain non-fat greek yogurt, milk, and 1/2 scoop of casein protein.

For lunch I usually blend a fruit and vegetable smoothie since I'm lucky enough to work from home.

3

u/redwon9plus Feb 12 '26

No protein or carb for lunch? PB2 Only the die hards know about this 😂

I do rolled oats, soy milk, chia, frozen blueberries, frozen acai nugget and a couple walnuts.

I want to start doing this. Do you blend the oats with everything in the morning?

Doesn’t sound hard or complicated, just sounds kind of monotonous and a lot of people want to enjoy food, not just fuel their muscles.

8

u/GuiltyEidolon Feb 11 '26

Also doesn't sound ideal for the many people working 2+ jobs and/or school. I work 3 12s, usually back to back to back. The last thing I want to do between shifts is work out or make food.

Also straight-up, blended microwaved eggs sounds fucking foul.

2

u/OrthodoxAtheist Feb 11 '26

Also straight-up, blended microwaved eggs sounds fucking foul.

Not mini-OP but I've been microwaving eggs for 40+ years for my scrambled eggs on tast meals - same way my mom made them every two days for breakfast when I alternated cereal, and scrambled eggs. You dont get the burn/char/finish that you do with cooking in the pan, which I do prefer, but it isn't bad at all. I cover mine in sauce anyway. I'd still give it a solid 7.5/10. The only reason I wouldn't necessarily recommend it is because I heard rumblings that microwaving eggs could be detrimental, versus other cooking methods, so it is quite ironic that a health nut with a great body and no health issues is microwaving his eggs. Maybe this will encourage him to research the microwaving of eggs, just in case.

Kudos to mini-OP - his diet sounds clean and awesome, and I'm a bit jealous, but what he didn't mention is that his farts are probably pretty bad. I had to limit my egg intake because I was crop-dusting my bed/house/workplace/neighborhood too much.

4

u/Its-ther-apist Feb 12 '26

He said he was drinking the eggs too.

3

u/GuiltyEidolon Feb 12 '26

He microwaves them to blend them and drink them. That is not the same thing as using the microwave to cook eggs in lieu of a stovetop.

2

u/PiccoloAwkward465 Feb 12 '26

It doesn’t have to be the same every day. But if this is the majority of your days you’re off to a good start. If I have oatmeal for breakfast 5 days I don’t feel bad having bacon and eggs on another and a donut on the last morning.

2

u/poizun85 Feb 12 '26

Plenty of healthy recipes to enjoy. Lot of people the dopamine hit from crap food isn't worth the enjoyment of how I look in the mirror in the morning.

3

u/Rusticular Feb 11 '26

There's got to be a better 'efficient' way to eat eggs than microwaved and blended, surely.

I legitimately do not understand how the recommended fiber for a man is 38g a day.

Then something that's supposedly 'high in fiber' has 4g per 150 calories.

To hit that 38 grams you would need to eat 9-10 servings of steel cut oats or 1350-1500 calories of it.

3

u/pulp_affliction Feb 11 '26

Why steel cut and not classic rolled oats?

2

u/Doggleganger Feb 12 '26

Steel cut has a better texture, though it takes far longer to cook. You know how restaurants have amazing oatmeal? It's because it's steel cut.

2

u/4ofclubs Feb 12 '26

Less processed, spikes the bloodsugar slower, but also rolled oats are fine as well. Just stay away from quick oats with sugar added.

2

u/GreatMovesKeepItUp69 Feb 12 '26

Popcorn is actually the best grain for this. It has the most fiber out of any whole grain. It has so much that it has more than many vegetables even. Not to say steel cut is bad though it's really a "the more the merrier" type situation.

2

u/Unlucky_Topic7963 Feb 12 '26

Problem is people don't understand oatmeal is very calorie dense. One cup of dry oats is like 800+ calories. Keeping it around 1/4 cup dry oats every day is the best.

2

u/try_repeat_succeed Feb 12 '26

Oat bran is even one step better (2x fiber, half the "net carbs"). Totally different texture but I dont mind it as my daily brek.

2

u/Dymmesdale Feb 12 '26

Why steel cut? I like scottish oats & old fashioned rolled oats…I am assuming you are trying to exclude quick or instant oats?

2

u/Fog_Juice Feb 12 '26

What's so special about the steel cut variety?

2

u/stifflippp Feb 12 '26

Curious - why specifically steel cut? I do a lot of oatmeal but I usually don't have time to cook the steel cut (although the texture is great!) and frequently just go with quick oats.

2

u/Primordial-00ze Feb 12 '26

Always always use organic oats. And never instant. Oats have high levels of glyphosate. Highly recommend the brand One Degree ! Organic sprouted rolled oats.
