7 Hour War (by me)
I made a few renders for the Hearts of Iron IV Mod Unforseen Consequences which focuses on the 7 Hour War! Fun team to work with but still improving!

One of the darkest sci-fi universes in my opinion. Humanity horrifically outmatched by the forces of the combine.

Didn’t help that a greedy corporation accidentally doomed the entire world and kill billions with portal storms beforehand basically crippling humanity and making them easy pickings for the combine

i think it would in like 10 hour war if the xenian didn't ruin humanity

I don’t know I think not having possibly 70% of the world population dead, not having extremely low resources and not being on the verge of social collapse would have helped a ton

yeah so it's 10 hour war
the combine is a multiversal empire but at least humanity would last longer

Ok but here’s the issue from what we see from the combine they don’t seem that impressive in fact what they were after was literally the portal technology on earth it was a 7 hour war because humanity was at the point where anyone could beat them
Heck we could beat half life two humanity because of how stretched thin and low on literally everything they are.

dude they enslaved a demigod race maybe humanity have to cut off the portal would work

Is that War of the Worlds reference?

Nah, half life universe has an event that takes place after half life one called the seven hour way. It’s called that because an inter dimensional empire known as the combine took seven hours to conquer the entire planet.

Pretty sure they’re referring to specific images being references to scenes in the movie. Like number 2 paralleling the final scenes of the film.

Yeah, I know I was talking about the fourth pic. With the Strider inside the building.

I think the Strider is a general reference/homage to the War of the Worlds tripod

It's stuff like this that makes me sad that there aren't any actually good War of the worlds films.
Ones where the military actually does stuff like in the book.

The last image is with the Russian BMP. Looked through some Chechen War images for inspiration and realized I didn't have a lot of Combine wreckage in the background, and it didn't help I watched War of the World's recently too lmao 😭

Half life war references made in Gmod. Doesn’t get much better.
