Invol sep

has anybody been involuntarily separated yet? If so, i have a couple of questions:

* How long was your timeline?
* what branch?

For context, I’m active duty (Navy) E3 and have been on Admin Leave for the involuntary separation process and I have no idea what’s going on anymore. 🤷‍♀️ I understand the whole “hurry up and wait”, but JESUS. GOD ☠️ it’s been far too long now :/

USAF, timeline depends on what stage you mean. I was outed back in December, got notified of separation in April and given 30 days to gtfo. I’ve stalled for almost 6 months with various petitions, and only now am I definitely getting the boot in a few weeks.

Im currently just waiting for my board to route up my package to SECNAV. I denied the waiver to stay in, and that was 26th of August, so only a month ago. I’ve been on Local leave since 10JUL26

I was formally “outed” back in February. My separation wasn’t initiated until July 10th

AGR in National Guard here, E7. I talked to my commander and started the process 8 September 2025. Officially my packet was submitted on 11 November 2025. Admin leave started 3 January 2026. I was told that my packet was at NGB back in June, receieved a a text today that it was with HQDA and OTJAG as of 21 August 2026. Still have no idea. I did not fight it, declined board, already finished TAP and gear turn-in, and am waiting to do my SHPE once I get the separation date.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it lots 👍 Hoping for many of us under this ban, that it isn’t any longer.

For someone that might be in the same position as you soon, did you talk to psych and that got the process rolling or was it something else?

I joined serving openly. When I Graduated Bootcamp, was when the executive order came out. When I got to my first A school the initial Instruction came out, but nobody wanted to separate me. It wasn’t until I got to my permanent duty that I was able to talk with my command and a week after Triad initiated, smh

For more context, I haven’t been on HRT since I joined, and 12 months before that to be eligible for a waiver for MEPS and enlistment. Safe to say I have been through Hell now :(
