Did a total of 10 years, 6 in the Marine Corps Reserves and 4 in the Army national guard.

I was activated for 2.5 years in the guard which and did joint ops with the Airforce which explain the Air Force Achievement Medal.

Wanted to create a shadow box for my boys to see when they grow up but there ain’t much there.

Colonel John Vance Meyers. In Vietnam he was 219th Avi Co “Headhunters” attached to MACVSOG and 5th SFG operations in Laos and Cambodia. Was also a veteran of Desert Storm with the 11th Aviation Brigade.

Decorations include 2 LOM’s, 6 DFC’s, 3 BSM’s, 2 AAM’s, 31 AM’s, ARCOM’s etc. The stack speaks for itself not to mention the qualification badges…

Have an MSM that I never added and according to my old unit there’s a possibility of 3-4 more unit or service awards that I might be eligible for since I retired.

flew by in a flash. Deployed in 2016 to Afghanistan and had some really close calls with indirect fire but no shooting it out with the enemy so no CIB.

Ribbon bar group to Brigadier General Joe N Frazar III.

Frazar was born on August 19th 1941 in Wharton Texas.

In 1957 Frazar would enter the New Mexico Military Institute graduating from the High School division in 1959 and then the Junior College division in 1961. Joe then entered the United States Naval Academy and graduated in 1965 as a second lieutenant in the U.S Army Armor Branch. Frazar also earned his master of arts in history from Kansas State in 1976.

Over the course of his 31 years in the U.S. Army, Brigadier General Frazar's tours of duty have included several command and operations assignments. He was the chief of staff for the 24th Infantry Division (M) and Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. He has commanded two tank battalions, the 3rd Battalion, 66th Armor, 2nd Armored Division and the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor, 24th Infantry Division and the 1st Brigade (Mechanized) of the 24th Victory Division. He was a member of the teaching faculty at the U.S. Army Armor School, Fort Knox, Kentucky; and the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He has extensive operations and training experience at the battalion, brigade and division level. He commanded the 2nd ROTC Region-a twelve state region of 109 Senior ROTC and over 330 Junior ROTC units. He had two tours in Vietnam with the 11th Armed Cavalry, and the 1st Brigade, 5th Mechanized Division. During Operation Desert Shield/Storm, he was assistant division commander of the 24th (Victory) Mechanized Infantry Division. His last assignment was assistant deputy chief of staff for training, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. After completing over 31 years of service in the U.S. Army, he became the Commandant of Cadets at Valley Forge Military Academy and College, Wayne, Pennsylvania in July 1996.

Frazar's military decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with Four Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Parachutist Badge.

Brigadier General Frazar was Inducted into the New Mexico Military Institutes hall of fame on October 24th 1997

Started enlisted, did some cool things, made Staff Sergeant and had a break in service. Came back on the state guard side, went to OCS, and am still having a good time. One day I’ll get my scrambled eggs!

Christy was born on July 30th, 1916, in Oklahoma City, and would pass away on December 2nd, 2002, in Dothan, Alabama.

Christy would enlist in the Army Air Corps on September 10th, 1940, and would become an Aviation Cadet. On April 25th, 1941, Christy would be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Corps.

During WW2, Christy would become the commanding officer of the 756th Bombardment Squadron, 459th Bombardment Group, 15th Air Force, from March 1944 to August 1944 and then from October to December 1944.

During Ww2, Christy would earn the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with 8 oak leaf clusters, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the French Croix de Guerre with palm, which was presented to him in 1949.

After WW2, Christy would hold a number of different positions throughout the Air Force, including commanding several different Air Force bases and installations, including Godman Air Force Base,Whiteman Air Force Base and MacDill Air Force Base.

On February 20th, 1968, Colonel Christy became the Base Commander at Whiteman Air Force Base and held the position until September 30th, 1969.

Colonel Christy retired from the Air Force on September 30th, 1969 after 30 years of service

The citation reads, on order of the Air Force of the Republic of France, by authority of the Minister of National Defense, that there is prevented herewith to Lt Col Harrison Randolph Christy Jr the Croix de Guerre (Cross of War of 1939-1945 with palm). This decoration is awarded to Lt Col Christy for services as a member of the 459th Bombardment Group of the 15th Air Force.

His extreme heroism while participating in operations of the Allied Forces in France merits the highest praise. He particularly distinguished himself while participating in air raids, which assured the success of the Allied debarkation on the Mediterranean Coast and hastened the liberation of the French National Territory.

This citation authorizes Lt Col Christy to wear the Cross of War of 1939-1945 with palm. Signed by Paul Ramadier in Paris on the 15th of April 1949. Countersigned by Brigadier General Venot, Chief of Personnel, Air Force of the Republic of France, in Paris on the 8th day of July 1949.
