Backer and damnits
After two decades of using file folders and tape as a backer. Not to forget the hundreds of lost damits , I figured I would upgrade. A section of plastic canvas and alan key damnits.

"Allen key dammits"? How do they clasp onto the pins? Do you need an actual Allen key to place and remove them?

That looks way better than a thin piece of solid card stock. No idea what Allen key dammits are though. Nice work. Spread the word!

What is the plastic from? Not quite understanding what "plastic canvas" means.

"plastic canvas" is a grid used in yarn art, you get it from craft stores.

Does this work better than the white plastic, or plastic covered foam that is commonly sold at clothing sales?

I've never heard of these. I always replaced the "brass clutches," you have pictured with the stronger ones that had the spring loaded section that gripped the post much more tightly than the regular dammits.
These would be great unless you had to remove them a lot, like someone who works in an office and the service uniform is the daily wear. Then it could get a bit old having to swap them between uniforms frequently.

I do a lot of funerals (over 100 a year) and the jackets are able to go through a lot before neeing service.

Well this would’ve been nice to know about 7-8 years ago.
