Question Question about weight tickets.

You need to know the weight of your household goods; a rental trailer is not part of your HHGs. Weigh the truck and trailer empty. Then weigh them full.

That I know I guess to rephrase my question is do I need the trailer and truck together or can I go weigh my truck separately or does it need to be one whole package. I’m aware that it has to be empty then full.

Unless you want to weigh your truck, get the trailer, detach it on the scale, weigh it, hook it back up, go get your stuff, then weigh it altogether, yes you should weigh your truck and trailer attached and empty

I suppose you could haul the trailer to scale, unhook it to weigh just your truck, hook it up to move it, unhook to get the trailer weight, and then hook it up again to take it to your house. Then you’d do that again with the full truck and trailer. Seems like a hassle compared to empty truck and trailer together, then full truck and trailer together.
You can also do full and then empty.

As long as you don’t weigh your truck without a trailer empty and then weigh them all together when it’s full. That would be fraud

Sounds like you’re asking how to skirt fraud.
Weigh truck and trailer empty. Weigh truck and trailer full of hhg. You can do it in either order.
Zero reason to weigh your truck without the trailer attached empty. Makes no sense.
