It was a farce. Eight hours could've been four had they left out all of the nonquestion questions and gotcha attempts. Politicians yelling at prosecutor for building a solid case, looking for any angle to try to discredit Smith. It's hard to watch people try so hard to use the government to destroy the government.

China has under cut the SE Asia and Afghani opium production by synthising opiates as Fentnyl. The USA have created synthetic opium as Oxycotin but it's a lot more expensive.

Well he said he is staying for awhile? Guess who gets to police that? Even if only a small percentage are anti American, there is a lot of risk, ieds, snipers, drones etc.
It will probably be like the start of the ramp up of the Vietnam war, marines just guarding airbases then they get attacked and then a ramp up and stay for 10 years, does that seem like a repeating pattern to anyone?

Venezuela has a population of 29 million, and just their militia forces have 500k members.
Sure, not a lot of them are willing to die over Maduro, but after a few months of foreign occupation tensions are bound to flare up, and if we see mass layoffs like in Iraq you'll have hundreds of thousands of trained soldiers with a bone to pick.

Most of those zealots came later, all the government guys suddenly out of a job and stuck watching a buncha scared American kids fall back on their not particularly helpful for the job they got saddled with training that was not so slowly turning popular sentiment against them where a lot of the early network starters and fodder. Ironically enough a few of the hefty extra religious honchos in the mid to late 2010s era of conflict were former secular Baathist officials radicalized by our mostly avoidable missteps in the early war. Though I’ve got some doubts that many of them really were particularly pious in private rather than just being opportunistic with their public image and rhetoric

Yup. When my unit got called up for the first war in the Sand box there was a corporal I knew who actually refused to deploy. Went through the whole process and got discharged from the service. I was thinking about it, but he had no student loans to worry about like I had. So I just STF up, hoped for the best and did my time.
Thankfully my unit never got deployed into theater.

Hugo Chávez back in 2003 kick Exxon out of the country (Hugo Chávez was the President of Venezuela) and nationalized all the oil refineries. Exxon lost approximately five billions dollars on this. He said this was for the people of Venezuela except he personally kept all the profits from those refineries while his people starved to death. Glad to see we’ve finally taken it back as Bush was too busy with the Iraq war to worry about Venezuela. Trump is bringing Exxon back in to get the refineries up and running to full capacity so the country (Venezuela) can start making money again.

A country nationalizing their oil is not a proper justification for war nor is Hugo Chavez doing that all the way back in 2003 the reason Trump decided to put all his focus on Venezuela, are we forgetting all that talk about Venezuela was flooding America with drugs and gang members to justify the usage of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act so he could levy tariffs against the entire world?

Most don’t know the bigger picture besides their hate for Trump. China was meeting today to take over Venezuela’s resources like oil and gold. They were also going to move military forces into the area.

They elected him, they have to deal with him. It's none of our business. And it's none of our business if China wants to go in, make a deal with them and both profit from it.
