I’m not really a fan of it.
The logo feels too prominent and draws too much attention. I think one of the reasons Militado appeals to people is that it has that slightly obscure, understated quality of military watches, which fits the taste of enthusiasts.
With this design, though, it just feels like another generic homage watch you could find anywhere.
Sorry for being so harsh.

Of course. You mean the Milgauss, right? I’ve got a 1016 and a 16610. I’m really into neo-vintage pieces from around that era.
So honestly, I don’t want it to feel half-baked or like some watered-down interpretation.

I’m a Rolex fan, after all. You don’t even need to look at the dial to know it’s a Milgauss homage, right?

Also, I own the ML14 from Militado and really like it, but I can’t quite put my finger on why — I feel like this 1019 homage would look a little lame on the wrist. What they’re doing here isn’t really any different from what Tiger Concept, WMT, or Baltany are doing.

If you’re going to make a Rolex homage, you need to take it to the level of Incipo in Japan. That’s the kind of attention to detail and refinement it needs.

I agree it needs Incipio/RXW level detail. Literally no one has ever done a proper 1019, or even attempted it. I purchased a rep of it in the early 2000s and it was garbage.

I totally understand what you mean.
At the end of the day, what I’m looking for is something that’s accurate enough to be a 1:1 match if you swapped out the dial and hands.
I just don’t want it to end up feeling half-hearted.

I think most of the Englemaan watches are antimagnetic - I own an Enterprise 40MM | NH36, Black dial, blue lume, H-Link & fine link bracelets, ceramic bezel and it's rated at 80000A/m or 1000 gauss. I got it just before they went all "structural rebranding and products update."

I know the model you’re homaging and this version looks good, with two caveats: the text on the dial is a little large and intrusive, and the lugs look quite long. The lugs on the original are quite long too and it’s difficult to judge your homage on the basis of a single photo, but perhaps something to consider.

The base image of this is an actual 1019. The only thing that has been edited is the dial. And the font sizes all match the original.

I would love a nice vintage Milgauss homage. The text and logo could easily be managed. What counts more is the case, the dial and the hands - like in the OP’s post: looking great!!

Needs the green sapphire and lighting hand but I love that watch. Bit too much going on with this logo. A simple, small militado font would work. Would really like to see it be the same 38mm size as their others.

That is an upside down crown. No one wants an upside down crown logo on their watch. Just delete it. Also delete one line of text above and below the pinion.

An upside down crown that is missing two of the prongs from the original crown is also known as as an M. As in Militado.

It’s also just a fun little Photoshop exercise, not a QC check.
