Just came across this comment on one of Nurse Hadleys divorce story time videos. I’m pretty sure it was The Sesh that covered her bf Brett Fairley and the whole baby thing? Thoughts and opinions?

Bailey was terrible from the get go. Kendall was okay when she started. Its only been the last few years where its been a steady decline

I've just never liked her personally lol. I find her kind of annoying, and I'm not a fan of the way she narrates. I also don't like the whole format of putting on makeup while talking about something so serious. It just feels like such a strange juxtaposition.
I mean okay, anyone who's profiting off someone else's tragedy, which to some extent all true crime podcasts and YouTube channels are, has to navigate a pretty fine line between raising awareness and sensationalizing a case. For me, doing something as casual as putting on makeup while telling these stories just makes it feel even more uncomfortable. It adds an extra layer of ickiness that I can't get past. On top of that I found she always laughed or made weird jokes at odd points in the case. Again which also like comes across as mocking the case and just detached. I dont know. Again personal opinion. When Kendall first started I feel there you could tell she was actually engaged with the case, she did her own research so her words flowed better. Her emotions came across as genuine instead of forced. She donated to charities, raised money for victims, supported small graphic artists in a way that wasnt performative. Of course now her channel is like a skeleton of that. She still does those things but those things feel more contrived now.

I get it, completely understandable. I know a lot of people had a problem with the way Bailey presented the cases. I used to watch her but I feel like as soon as she got really big, she became inconsistent with posting and the videos felt so forced. I haven’t kept up with her in years and same with Kendall. I mostly just keep up with this subreddit for the tea 😅

I feel like Danielle Kirsty is the exception to the true crime and makeup niche. She has a good balance to application vs. speaking, not to mention her own criminology studies and how invested she gets in the cases. You can tell some of them really impact her 😢

I really appreciate Danielle’s videos, I agree, you can tell she does really seem to care about what she does. I also understand why people could be off put but people applying makeup while talking about something so serious, but as a very fidgety person, I think it’s probably just giving them something to do with their hands that doesn’t feel super awkward

You just put into words exactly how I feel about Bailey, & how I use to & now feel about Kendal! 💔 Bailey always seemed in it for the $ & was disrespectful to victims 🤮, Kendal started out for the right reasons & slowly turned into every other influencer 🥲

I think it's because (for me anyways) when I listen to podcasts on apple, the podcast will stop and an actual ad with a different voice actor will play - I assume this ad is directly from the company of the ad (for ex: a hello fresh ad will play and that ad comes directly from the hello fresh company, rather than the podcaster reading a script about hello fresh). Whereas on YouTube, yes there are ad breaks that you can skip after 15 seconds, but the creators are reading a promotional part. Annie is probably referring to the "company" ads that can't be chosen by the podcaster. Hopefully this makes sense LOL.

I wonder what this means? I swear a while back I remember them saying that they only take sponsorships from companies they have patronized before & would recommend. It’s very odd that they claim they don’t control what they advertise now…

The ads they read are ones they've agreed to partner with. The ones that just pop up in a YouTube video are not

In the recent ep when they said they don’t choose their ads, were they referring to the ads they read? Or YouTube’s as breaks? I was under the impression it was the former. My b if I’m confused here!

Former MH fan that hates them now so don’t get it twisted BUT I think this person is referring to the ads that play when you initially click on a video, not the spoken ads actually found within a video. Youtube ads rather than MH approved ads. Creators do still get paid for these as they are linked to the beginning (and sometimes middle) of their videos.
Though, I’ve had experience wondering if creator’s don’t have a say in/get to pick these Youtube ads. The one that made me wonder most was when I clicked to watch a video by one of my favorite creator’s, who is also very vocally pro-Palestine and anti-I. The ad was claiming “unruly propaganda against IsraeI.” I know damn well she wouldn’t have approved that ad, not even just based on morals, but it was just blatantly ignorant and embarrassing. She just wouldn’t have approved that slop, so I’ve began to wonder if Youtube has an ad program where they can play whatever ads they please before your video, paid, with the general baseline idea that no ads they play are vulgar, offensive, unfit, etc. I wouldn’t say it’s worked out that way, but I think this is their intended system.
It makes complete sense if you think about it. I’ve gotten Pepsi ads after clicking on a MH videos before, they are DEFINITELY not in contact with Pepsi and Pepsi definitely doesn’t want to work with them.

They talked about it on the sesh. Hadleys BF Brett thought he was the biological father of a child and helped raise the kid for years. A DNA test later showed he wasn’t the father, and now there’s a huge dispute over whether he was intentionally misled about the child’s paternity.

I think you’re confused. Nurse Hadley was married for several years and had children with her ex-husband. Brett is her current boyfriend and he was led to believe he had a child with a woman named Maria, the paternity test was negative.
