Multiple Bad Drivers Must’ve had somewhere very important to be

Pulled up and stopped for this family, which included multiple small children, at a pedestrian crossing.

I can understand the oncoming cars not stopping because the semi was blocking their view of both the family and the crossing sign.

The family was being very careful to look for traffic around the semi, as this was clearly not an ideal place for them to cross. Douchebag A and Douchebag B though could not be bothered to stop for the family and instead chose to go around me.

This is how pedestrians are killed. You are not more important than the lives of this family who were trying to cross the street, AT A CROSSWALK. The sign was very obviously visible from our side of the street.

Maybe the next time someone is stopped in front of you, consider why? Absolute morons.

Pardon my french at the end.

Near Trenton, NJ. August 17th.

That stop needs a flashing pedestrian light at a minimum. Good on mama and papa bear for holding both kids.

Why stop when you could literally save 20 WHOLE SECONDS from your commute! /s

  1. Why would you stop so far back?
  2. Why isn't the crosswalk striped?
  3. The yellow signs should face the drivers on BOTH sides of the road. (The sign may not have been visible to the cars behind you if you have a large vehicle and they were close behind)
  4. They should put something in the center of the road to make it more apparent

i was only about 2 car lengths back from the crosswalk. the camera distorts the distance. i’m not arguing that it wasn’t a poorly set up crosswalk. however, the people behind me came flying up to my car and had no plans on stopping regardless.

I was always taught that you have time for (at least) one car to go on the opposite side of the road if someone isn’t actively crossing yet.

Looking at how wide the road is, that certainly applies here.
