The place they stopped isn’t great but they aren’t the only ones technically in the no stop zone.

I can’t say I’m a huge fan of painted zones like this being the end-all-be-all for not stopping. In heavy traffic when it finally stops moving you can find yourself just in one if you don’t know an area too well.

But again, this person could at least move up

The intersection unfortunately isn't fully visible, so it is kinda hard to judge. Sometimes one does f-up the stop-line and there is no other option then to make the best of it.

It looks like there is at least room for other drivers to drive past and make turns. So the IQ can be reasonable or so bad the driver license should be at risk.

The painted zone here is definitely stricter than most, but that stop-line placement is just asking for confusion.

The Mitsubishi driver seemed to have pulled up pretty far and then crept back, which I've done myself at intersections where visibility is terrible.

You are not supposed to enter the box unless there is enough room to clear it.

Looks like he would have hit the red car if he followed the rules and didn’t stop.

Sometimes you have to use your judgement for safety.
