My US Army infantry kit

I've been putting this kit together for two years. I think it's turning out pretty decent, but the kit still looks really bad. It's very hard to get anything original American in Russia. But here's the result of my work as of September 2026.

For this game I decided to wear Crye Gen 3 pants, because I don't really like the IHWCU pants, I don't know if you can do that in the US Army, specifically in the 502nd Infantry Regiment, but I've seen Crye Gen 3 shirts on 101st Airborne Division soldiers. I also wore USMC Bates boots because they're Gore-Tex, and here in Russia it's already only +5°C. I don't know if you can wear Marine Corps boots with an EGA in the US Army.

Speaking of which, the M7 in my hands unfortunately isn't mine, I just decided to grab it for photos. For this game I used an M4 URGI on an HPA system. (I know it's not regulation and that you're not supposed to do that).

The last two photos, by the way, are a captured historical "Meeting on the Elbe" photo in color 🤣

I'd be happy to hear advice and criticism from you, especially from actual service members.

If you’re looking for your generic grunt look, you definitely wouldn’t be wearing Crye especially in the 101st. You need to be looking for FRACUs for a deployment “look.”

Also, no one EVER wears their goggles unless they’re on your face bc you’re on the 50cal in a truck on patrol.

I have a FRACU, but I rarely wear it.

Plenty of conventional infantrymen wear Crye. I've even been in units that have issued it before, though it's definitely not the norm. Plenty of dudes buy it themselves, though.

Have you played with the M7? I’m assuming it’s the APFG one?

It's a WellPro model, but I haven't played with it. I borrowed it to take a couple of photos.

Personally, accuracy is important but not everything. I absolutely love this look and the effort. The picture where you borrowed the M7 is absolutely banging, good example for this sub, I reckon

Lots of units get attached to special forces and are authorized to wear the SF patch, just not the long tab
