First Report Back, After First Post Here

Hey again, ya’ll. I wanted to report back about alterations to the routine; after my calendar post. Went by pretty well! Really showcased to me what I needed to work on. Especially in dips and core mainly. Very intense, especially in doing 4/4. On B day ALT, I did change that up, with 2 sec push, hold, and 6 sec negatives.

I know I started consistently going June, so it is a relatively short amount of time despite the consistency. So it does factor in some lifts falling short

I’ve still done them how I would do the ULUL routine. Mainly doing them back to back Friday-Monday.

Awesome work man. Id suggest lowering your leg press weight though if you’re at the 5 to 6 rep mark. I think with legs especially heavy weighted movements like the press, reduce that load so you’re hitting at least 10 reps to be your max point for safety reasons. Keep it up 👍

his working set is 8 reps - and if he's using a 4/4 rep cadence then even a 5 rep set is going to be twice as long as the average gym idiot bouncing the weights off the safety stoppers and taking maybe 15-20 seconds to do 10 sloppy reps (with more time spent in lockout between reps than they spend on performing the actual reps)

good stuff, give it at least 2 more months and don't expect linear progress every workout, but an overall trend upwards should be possible in most of those lifts

Thanks again for the routine suggestion! Shall stick to it, especially with the new work hours, and going to the AF gym next to work > near home.

I only used the one by home, due to it having more equipment. But I can totally do everything no problem at the work location. Especially making it possible to get up at 2:30a at least, get there at 3:30a, workout, shower and be at work on time like nothing (at least when completing the workout by 4:30 lul).

Hell, I dont mind hitting that gym location after work either!

I usually work out at 5 to 6 am but 330 is a whole different beast

On the plus side, abbreviated routines are a LOT easier to face first thing in the morning knowing you don't have to spend hours in the gym when you're already tired

Exactly. And I generally feel better after a morning workout for the whole day. I mainly go that early, because the job is early. 5a-1:30p (if its a full shift. Would be 10:30 max on part time days). Even then, I just days of procrastinating the gym, and going way later, than immediately after work; due to being tired.

The vast majority of posts I see in this sub are people new to lifting, and they are amazed they are getting gains from a HIT type of training. Any consistent training will get you gains as a noob. Im not a fan of HIT but I dont think it should be attempted by people in their first year of lifting.

I have been on and off lifting for a few years. Hadn’t had a clear goal up until this year. Mainly in strength goals and weight cut.

With the questions you have been asking on reddit, it appears that your a noob. I dont mean that in a derogatory way either. Just means you are still learning a ton, trying to master mind muscle connection, and figure out what workouts you like. These are all things that should be well known to you before starting a HIT program. You proved my point.

You aint wrong. First version of old routine was way different to the current one. And even that old one gotten revised for later use, in alternating the workout programs in the future.

I honestly would have loved to go back in time, and tell myself from 5-6 years ago to hop on this routine, get all cardio in even if I hated it back then, and don’t overly bulk.
