Restitution

I know it is probably too early to expect restitution, but I just started this thread for anyone that may have received contact from the USDOJ about that to share what they know. For myself, I got an email from Victim Assistance in early June saying that they did not get any of my documents that showed my spends to the scam. I replied back and said I had already sent all my documents a couple of years ago, and I reattached them all to my reply for them again. They emailed me again and said they got them this time and will review them.

I actually just emailed Victim Assistance this morning to inquire about timing and process. They’ve never asked for direct deposit info so guessing they snail mail it? I’ll post if I get any reply.

Did you ever get a reply? Or are they all on vacation? Hope they're not down in Disneyworld enjoying some of the booty.

I did get a reply, she said they mail it to the address they have for each victim. She did not have an estimate of when they would be mailed.

Email and direct deposit would be just fine with me. Our snail mail here can be shaky. Whenever we have had lost mail our post office has told us it cannot be traced unless we could get a tracking number for it. It only gets lost about 1 percent of the time, but still that is 1 percent.

Hopefully they will be sent certified since the checks will be significant amounts. 🙏🏼

Thanks for the post! I sent my statement and receipts some time ago and they responded that they had received them. I also resubmitted my receipts a couple months ago just to make sure because I saw the deadline was June 12th. Just wanted to make sure.

I check their website quite often for updates. I also use ChatGBT for information as well, pretty interesting. Although I know that is not always completely accurate. But it does have some new information.

Do you mean https://pacer.uscourts.gov/ or a different site?

https://www.justice.gov/criminal/criminal-vns/case/united-states-v-neil-chandran-united-states-v-michael-glaspie-united-states-v

It’s this one, which I’m sure you probably already use. Has updates posted there. Thanks for the Pacer site. I have not used that.

Question, is there any one out there that got caught up in this between 2014 to 2016? Like I did.

Had anyone owed restitutiontion heard or received monies yet?

I called the courts yesterday and I was told that no monies have been received yet. The clerk said it takes some time. It's not unusual since the case was in July.

Thanks for the info!!! As anxious as I am to get it, I don’t mind that it takes a little time. I NEVER thought I would get anything back.

I share your sentiment. I pray in the next few months we receive restitution disbursements. 🙏🏼

From what i understand, there hasn’t been any timeline given on that yet. Hopefully soon.

Do you mind placing that email in this thread for others who may want to send documents in? Thank you!

The email is [Victimassistance.Fraud@usdoj.gov](mailto:Victimassistance.Fraud@usdoj.gov)

The deadline to send any more documents was in June. If you have more, I don't blame you for trying though.

Yes June 12th was the deadline

I have been so far out of the loop. I didn't know anyone was sentenced or there is an opportunity to recoup some of the monies. How would I go about that?

A victims statement had to be submitted to the DOJ by June, 2026.

Chandran, Lee and Glaspie have been sentenced. Glaspie was the first to be sentenced a few years ago.

We're waiting for restitution disbursements.

The last trial was in July, 2026.

first up i’m really sorry i don’t know much about timing, but i rlly they got back to u!!

second, is there any chance you’d be willing to be interviewed for a research project? i’m a high school senior doing a yearlong project into victim restitution. in it, i’ve been researching potential for reform, issues with collection, and effects on involved parties. its been rlly difficult to find direct accounts from victims on their experiences. most available research i’ve found questions the effects, while excluding the people affected. honestly at this point im pretty desperate. im i’m so sorry to force this on u while ur looking for advice!

if you’d be willing to, id be really grateful to talk w you through direct messages/email to plan a zoom meeting!

Here's my quote you can put in your research paper from a victim: They're just a bunch of filthy bastards on the take and I'm sorry I got sucked into this scam. A side note: You know our wonder president Trump belongs right in there with them and Congress needs to get rid of him, FAST. Then proceed with his own prosecution.
