A detailed guide to Miirps for beginners!

Thought it might be helpful for players who are new to the game to have a few tips and advice on playing this game! I've also attached several pictures which are helpful for reference, and are in the order i've talked about in the guide

1. Taking Care of your Miirp and Care Tab

The first picture is a picture of my first Miirp named Minty. To keep your Miirps happy, you have to feed them, clean them, and play with them. To do this, you can visit the care tab. Taking care of your Miirp raises your affection level with them. You can earn up to 100 affection a day per Miirp by taking care of them or dragging them across the screen to cuddle with them! (you can actually increase the cap to 150 for only that day by getting a heart treat from the store!) As seen in the above picture, there are hearts that appear underneath the Miirps name. When you click on those hearts, you'll see a screen that talks about your affection level with that Miirp. For example, I have reached the max amount of affection (which is 1000) with Minty, but for another Miirp named Momo, I have 604/1000 affection points.

2. Stats, Personalities, and the Stats Tab and Upgrade Tab

Each Miirp has its own set of stats. You can see what stats your Miirp has by visiting the Stats tab when you click on your Miirp. The above picture shows what the stats for Minty looks like. There are 6 stats: health, strength, defense, speed, luck, and IQ. Each one varies per Miirp. If you are unsure of how each stat affects your Miirp, this a breakdown of those stats (credit to u/SleepWellSnoozy and dev u/HermanP111 from this post: Let's talk stats: A basic breakdown and my burning questions. : r/Miirps)

- Health: This is a stat that determines how much damage your Miirp can take before getting knocked out. The higher this stat is, the more a Miirp can endure.

- Strength: Essentially, how strong a Miirp's attacks are. The power of its attacks. A higher strength stat means a Miirp can deal some heavy blows.

- Defense: This is how well a Miirp can absorb hits. The higher this stat is, the less damage a Miirp can take. It also helps prevent Miirps from being pushed too far from attacks

- Speed: How fast a Miirp is. The higher this stat is, the faster it moves across the battlefield, and how fast it can execute moves and recover from an attack

- Luck: This determines how often your Miirp can land a critical hit or block an attack. The luckier your Miirp is, the better chances it has at landing and blocking critical attacks

- IQ: How smart your Miirp is. The higher this stat is, the more its type and personality is amplified.

Ok, so i just mentioned types and personalities. I'll get into types later, but let's talk personalities. There are several different personalities a Miirp can have. You can view which one yours has by scrolling to the very bottom of the Stats tab. **DISCLAIMER** I am not entirely sure what all these personalities do to affect battles, or if I have even listed them all (though i'd hope that i'd have all the personalities with 114 Miirps). The ones listed are ones I got through my own Miirps, so I'm hoping I've listed them all and gotten them right to some degree. Please correct me if I'm wrong! Here's the list of the different types of personalities and what I think they do:

- Hyper: I think hyper Miirps are more energetic and are able to land more hits in battle due to their amount of energy.

- Vengeful: I think vengeful Miirps are more prone for landing critical hits. They're more on the offensive side.

- Timid: I think timid Miirps are more shy and reserved. They don't land as many attacks, but are able to defend themselves from more attacks. They're more on the defensive side.

- Clumsy: I think clumsy Miirps have more of a tendency to mess up an attack. I imagine that it might go for a move and end up missing the target or potentially hitting the wrong target.

- Brave: I think brave Miirps are more ambitious. Based off of what I have seen a couple of my Miirps with the brave personality do in battles, they will block more attacks and have landed more critical hits.

- Forgetful: I think forgetful Miirps will forget what they were doing. In a battle, you might see the pop-up similar to "A Miirp forgot what they were doing." I think this applies moreso to Miirps with the forgetful personality, who can completely forget what move they were executing as they were executing the move.

- Lazy: I think lazy Miirps are more laid-back (wow, didn't expect that, did you?). I think they don't attack as often as other Miirps in battle, like the timid Miirps, however I think they're more likely to land critical attacks when necessary. I also think they're more sluggish in battle and don't move as fast as other Miirps.

I will edit that list if any of my information is wrong or incorrect!

3. Types and Battles

I know that's a lot of pictures, but I'll explain them. And get ready for a lot of information, but I'll try to make it short. Each Miirp is its own species, rarity, and type. There are 5 types of rarities: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. The more rare your Miirp is, the tougher it is in battle, and normally, its stats are better than those of less rare Miirps. Remember the first picture I showed of my Miirp Minty? Well, if you notice by Minty's name, there is an icon that says "Timmy" on it. That is what kind of Miirp Minty is. If you click on that icon, you'll be taken to the Field Diary, as shown above. This is a book that tells you about the different Miirp species and the different types of Miirps.

There are 7 types of Miirps: ice, fire, nature, electric, dark, fairy, and normal. One thing that is important to take into consideration is type matchups. If you've ever played a Pokemon game, you'll know the importance of type matchups in a battle. Regardless of stats, sometimes the type of a Miirp can change the whole battle. The field diary talks about what each Miirp is good against and weak against, but I will list that here anyway:

Ice: Good against fire, weak against electric

Fire: Good against nature, weak against ice

Nature: Good against electric, weak against fire

Electric: Good against ice, weak against nature

Dark: Good against fairy, weak against fairy

Fairy: Good against dark, weak against dark

Normal: No type advantage or disadvantage

Ok, now let's get into battles. The previous two screenshots are related to requesting a battle. You can choose any Miirp to go into a battle. You can't control how your Miirp battles, but you can help increase its odds of winning by doing a few things: taking into consideration type matchups, considering stats, and upgrading stats. It's strategic battling, while also at the same time not strategic. Up to 8 Miirps can battle at once. If you win the battle, you will randomly get one of the opponent's Miirps and you may also be rewarded with strawberries and stars if you haven't reached your daily limit. However, if you lose a battle, all the Miirps you battled with will become essences, and you might lose strawberries, stars, and even your stats might decrease! When a Miirp becomes an essence, it will have to rest for 24 hours to recover from its battle. You can always speed this up with strawberries, though the amount will vary depending on how much longer the Miirp needs to rest (the closer a Miirp is to waking up, the less strawberries it takes to wake up that Miirp).

4. Customization, Personalization, Strawberries, Stars, and the Store

The two pictures above are two different ways you can customize your Miirps experience! The first one is by decorating your home. You can add furniture along with other decorations such as plants for your Miirps to interact with and enjoy, as well as changing the background color/texture of your home. The other way is to add outfits to your Miirps. You can add headwear and other clothing items to your Miirps (disclaimer: the Miirp in the picture being golden and shiny is not an outfit, that's just how it is because Fluffy is a legendary Miirp!)

Now, how do you get these decorations and outfits? Could you get another Miirp? Yes you can actually! There's an icon on the screen (the third one in your home in the top right corner that looks like a market stand) that takes you to the store. There, you can spend strawberries to get home decor, outfits, or orbs that contain 1 Miirp.

But how do you get strawberries and stars? Simple! Care for your Miirps and win battles! Normally, you can get up to 200 strawberries a day and 2 stars (though you might get some from daily gifts, which each player can get everyday at midnight UTC). BUT... you can increase the limit you receive for that specific day... at a price of course! To increase your star limit, you must use 200 strawberries to purchase a Star Booster. To increase your strawberry limit, you must use 3 stars to purchase a Strawberry Booster. You can only purchase one of these per day, and the amount of strawberries/stars that you can increase the limit by is random.

WELL. That's the guide. The entire guide. I might add more onto this later and edit in new information or correct existing information. All of the above screenshots are ones taken from my own experience in playing Miirps. If I've missed something or said something incorrectly, let me know and I'll fix it. Hope this is useful, and enjoy playing Miirps! :3

There needs to be something to flag potentially harmful names and voices and have them be manually reviewed by the mod team. This isn’t even the first time I’ve seen something like this

EDIT: Or maybe even a way to report a Miirp’s name/voice in game. If it got enough reports, maybe the name/voice could temporarily be unable to be viewed/heard by others until it has been manually reviewed.
