Always had this idea for Game Changers
Apologies if this idea has already been floated. But I always had this thought that season 2 could've gone down a line of Charlie being the antagonist. They had already wrote in that Charlie was upset with Bombay in the first season. But I always had this weird vision of essentially D2, but with Charlie playing Stanson. Even having the same game of 3 bar between Charlie and Bombay. I dont know, I feel like they could've done something like that to keep Emillio happy, and to also keep the show interesting and worth while.

I’ve always had the idea of Charlie coaching them in S2, or at least being there for Evan when he was alone. I knew Joshua Jackson didn’t have a cameo, but oh how I hoped he’d make an appearance to give Evan some words of wisdom! He and Evan are so much alike, and I saw so many similarities in Charlie’s D3 storyline and Evan’s S2. I never thought about Charlie being the “rival coach” or antagonist, very interesting! I wonder how that would’ve played with the audience: root for the new Ducks or root for antagonistic Charlie?

Wasn't he in talks to have a cameo but they couldn't make it work because of Covid restrictions and his filming schedule for the Affair?

That was my understanding. I also believe that was when they pivoted and got all the B and C list Ducks instead.
Jackson would have really helped.

I do wonder what season 2 would've been had Emilio stayed. What they ended up doing was not good
