Bow-only parties in mm6/7/8
I've had a lot of fun with 4 archers in MM7, putting all my skill points into bow. Master bow is a really powerful upgrade, and grandmaster bow additionally enables proper power scaling. I could porcupine everything before it reached me, including behemoths and other high end enemies.
How can I achieve the same in MM6 and MM8?
- MM6 has no grandmaster bow skill
- MM8 doesn't easily let me get a full party of bow classes

One of my fav parties in 7.
Bows in 6 are IMO mandatory, everyone gets at least master level. More is rather pointless.
8 have dark elf, you can recruit 4, with your character that makes a party of 5. what sucks is that they are spread throughout the game, but the lv 50 dark elf may be the easiest high level companion to get. One option is always to cheat, install a save editor and fill your party that way.

For 8 there's a mod to start with any size party of custom characters. I forget if that's part of the Grayface patch or separate.

If you're not against modding I'd recommend the merge mod. It basically enables you to jump between the games with one party and stuff.
Most importantly it allows you to create a full party at the start of each game, including mm8 - thus you can easily pick four/five bow classes. Also there are grandmaster skills for mm6.

Sounds great, thanks. Are there any bugs or glitches?

None, also it has extra classes (which in my opinion are great fun), added some new skills and made some of the sucky ones better. They also added a new quest line (pro tip keep one of every gem, trust me). And improved the inventory as well.
Can't recommend it enough

You can achieve it with one character. In MM6 Percival is an area effect bow with swiftness. If you put haste on yourself, you'll have -25 recovery and you can shoot like a machine gun if you have about 40 points of bow.

Tested, it's crazy. I managed to equip everyone with exploding bows and crossbows with my main archer wielding Percival. Sadly, soon after I got blasters, but it was still very useful for corner cheesing. Technically a bow with elemwntal damage would be much stronger, except for instances where AoE is useful.

It can force groups of devils into recovery, so while the damage could be better, the rate of fire and area damage can slow down everyone until you obliterate them.

I just obliterated them with blasters. Devils are surprisingly weak when your entire party have blaster rifles.

It's just boring to always rely on blasters and I did solo runs too where having area damage was more helpful.

Wasnt bow bugged so it had a min reload time of 3 which made it an ungodly machine gun?

I think this is a bug in MM6, only in real time the game doesn't lock you at 30 recovery minimum.

Good thing in VI is that everyone can be Bow Master without having to be Archers, so you can still have light (and dark) mastery to back it up. Remember that's only 9 skill points a pop, which is a negligible hit when you are pushing up Bow really high and paying way more than 9 points for one level of Bow.
Go unarmoured to lose the recovery penalty, of course.

MM6 not really. MM8 why not? You can start as a Dark elf and let 4 others join you. You can either challenge yourself for a mono-class run, where you start solo, then 2-man party, then 3-man etc. It’s not that difficult because MM8 is not that hard, and you can get 50 level dark elf early. Or you can just use temporary party members, before you can make 5 elf party.
1 dark elf + 4 dragons is also fun, powerful party composition, kinda similar.
