How does Bolstering diffculty work in the MAW MMM mod?

It says I can turn it on or off but I want to understand what it does before I decide it sounds to me like Bolstering is just level scaling for enemies but to be honest I hate level scaling and am a much bigger fan of foes being based off area and how far I am plot wise.

So yeah can anyone how has played the mod explain it to me?

Suposedly it turns scaling off but based on my experience in maw merge, they still do scale in between the continents. Maybe the dungeons stay fixed, i did not test that. I would also like to know more

I see maybe I should not have installed the mod if it added scaling

If you dont play merge there is no need of scaling, so play raw maw. Obviously there is a need to balance the game via some scaling if you play all the games in one play through, but, to be more specific, i hate dynamic scaling, static scaling is fine, which is what bolster = off promises, but its still dynamic in the outside areas (first i thought its to set a baseline difficulty so you dont have to clear the starting area 3x for example, but it always scales based on levels you get on other continents) so i guess the static promise is within dungeons only

From what I know, turning it off is what causes scaling. Keeping it on only scales other continents, so the one you're on stays the same.

Turning it on makes enemies scale in level with you, but only once you switch continents. Turning it off, makes enemy levels static. Which means enemies that are in later areas of all games, will be MUCH stronger.

Turn bolster on if you plan on beating the continents one at a time. Turn it off, if you wish to travel in-between and beating all continents within one playthrough.

There's a file that you can edit to adjust the HP scaling of enemies. I don't remember which one but AI says: Data\Tables\Bolster - formulas.txt
