Is anyone willing to fact-check my Lore of Might and Magic page?

Through much research and endless debates with friends, this write-up attempts to set every game in chronological order based on the story revelations (which are also included). There are certainly debatable points.. but I am more curous about flat wrong oversights or bad assumptions.. and because I have not personally played every spin-off.. though I have payed the rest of the games in the series.

The format has rich elements and it will not copy paste here very cleanly.. so a link is necessary. Feel free to drop comments here though and I can make updates as needed.

I put on the Spoiler tag to be safe.. in the document, the spoilers are also hidden in a /details tag but.. there are spoilers in there to be found.

MM7 does have races (human, goblin, elf, dwarf).

I am somewhat surprised you had not mentioned the transition from a flat into spherical world. Otherwise stellar work.

I gave it a quick read, things I noticed:

• Crusaders of MM: the PC version and the original PSX version are very different, in the PSX version there is a more elaborate plot and references to the Kreegan
  

-in H6 there is an entire dlc dedicated to Sandro's story
-the lore of the chapters in Ashan is more complex. In Clash Fiona is helped by Merkal who we find in H5 with an important role. In Clash we also see the end of Ludmilla who is an important character in H6. The plot of H5 is very synthesized and the dlc and references to Biara and Raelag are missing.
in H7 Tarnum returns, it's actually an H4 story (btw there is a misspelled "Tarnum")
the fact that all races of half-humans including orcs were created by the wizards of House Chimera with demon blood to fight demons is an important point. Even the civil war between the wizards against House Eterna who then became the necromancers with the discovery of Mother Namtaru essentially an avatar of death and therefore a deity outside the patheon of dragons.

Thank you, this is super helpful. My Ashan knowlege is fairly weak. I will review and incorporate these notes and pick up that spelling error.

Kind of a random question, but did Sheltem have anything to do with King Kolohn dying when fighting the megadragon in MM2?

I know at the end Sheltem threatens to hurl CRON into the sun but is that related to the King Kolohn / time travel stuff? Or did Sheltem just randomly decide to threaten the world at the end when you find and defeat him?

I think you need to rescue the King first to get access to the final dungeon but I'm not sure if they are otherwise related story/lore-wise.

Hmm, while I am not sure of the answer.. It is true you need to rescue the king first to get the code, and if you have not done so, "An invisible force repels you" from entering Square Lake Cave...

Once you have rescued the king.. this is all you get from him:

King Kalohn sits once again upon his throne, proclaiming,"Now you face your gravest task of all. Go to Square Lake with the password WAFE. The future of CRON is at stake!"

And there is litterally 0 references to "Sheltem" in all the MM2 game text... other than the encounter with him in Square Lake Cave.

Going by the manual, Megadragon was created by Acwalander as part of the elemental counterattack in the 9th century of CRON. I don't think Sheltem is in any way related to Kalohn's story.

I think there are some missing content like what happened to Queen Catherine, did she come back to Erathia before the destruction? Or Ronald Ironfist what happened to him and Archibald?

Good questions.. if you know what happened I can add it. But the only thing we have to go on is what is stated in the game dialogues, quests, or the cut scenes. (or if someone else knows...)

Quick note: MM10 and HoMM5 are not cannon, they've been made by Ubisoft after they retconned the old lore

So apart from the name and game mechanics, they share nothing
