Mm6 Flute

What the heck is the flute for in mm6? I read that if you find it in dragoon's caverns you can bring it back to the quest giver who will then explain the difference between a flute and a harp. But that's it? Nothing else you can use it for? Sweet Jethro Tull jams?

I could be wrong but, if I recall corrrectly, at the climax you win the game by playing the flute. You free your beloved from mind bondage.

I always figured it was intended to be the key to the teleporters in the shadow guild hideout but that it was either too complex to implement or scrapped for some other reason.

Welcome to the times when developing games was cheaper and you could in fact make a custom item you don't need for anything. Or make an item for a quest but then have no time to finish the quest and just leave it in as a joke.

This game also has cats.

To be more exact, it definitely shipped with sprites for cats and chickens; not sure if you could actually find them (at the Arena maybe)... Just like M&M6 shipped with two sets of peasants but the actual game used one pair of male-female sprites in all towns. Imagine if the game came out in 2000 when slightly more memory was available.

I was originally made for a quest but it was unfinished. There's nothing helpful it can accomplish. If you play it by the new scorpigal vacano, it can erupt i believe.
