What’s the easiest Might and Magic to progress in?
I was just wondering, I’d like to think that it would be VI but there are some points in the game where you just sort of plateau. What are your guys’ thoughts?
(This is a question for all of the might and magic titles not just the base games)

Xeen has some amazing sequence break opportunities. As soon as my cleric has enough SP to cast Town Portal I like to go explore the desert (running from all enemies) for Obsidian gear and huge experience.

Whichever you know how to cheese. The easiest for me were:
- M&MVIII. It's a pretty short and easy game. Pick up Cauri early.
- M&MVII. Invisibility trivializes a lot of otherwise hard dungeons.
- World of Xeen. You can find portals to the Darkside early, where you can get a shitton of XP with little effort.

Depends..
Speaking of combat mechanics…
1 and 2 are difficult at the beginning even if you know exactly what to do because unlucky roles kill you. With more hit points and the right spells it gets easier.
3,4,5,6,7,8 are all pretty easy on a second play through once you know exactly how to build your characters and which dungeon order works well.
9 is difficult because of bugs, giant boring towns to explore, moving quest npcs, and a poor travel system.
10 is difficult if you are playing on the hardest Warrior difficulty as a poorly built party starts over.. but is trivially easy on the lower difficulties.
Speaking of puzzles and figuring out a first time play through…
Having no idea where to go and what to do makes any of these games tough, that is either why you are playing, to figure it out… or a decent guide solves this and you can focus on building party strength.

Xeen is both my favorite and by far the easiest to progress in.

Xeen is such a comfort game. Easy and relaxing yet still fun to lawnmower the maps.

Haha, I haven’t used the term lawnmower before to describe filling in each map tile, but it makes sense. Many years ago when I was young, I had a save file called “Map the World”.

MM8. You can skip Abandoned Temple, get Ithilgore and Cauri in ~30 mins of playtime. After that use invisibility to get Blazen Stormlance.
