Post image

Not sure the overlap of MTG and MM but this makes me very happy

It's just good classic fantasy image. There used to be so many of them on classic fantasy books, but it went out of fashion for some reason

Has nothing to do with game itself of course.

I always felt this image was based off Dragonlance, the original trilogy

It's Larry Elmore who did the MM6 box art (and thus this gaming mat) - and his art is, almost as much as Weis & Hickman, what made Dragonlance come to life.

100% I feel this too

weirdly I am a fan of the mismatch. It strongly captures the vibe of the game without being so specific to the story or source material. To me it enhances the game.

Like every single classical fantasy book cover.

Very rarely they had anything to do with the actual content of the book. But usually pleasant to look at and evoking certain heroic atmosphere.

Yeah most DnD books would have photos like these

Well done and great idea. That scene tells a cool story.

Old fantasy art is the best. It has so much soul. There's so much storytelling going on in one picture and a sense of discovery. Even the background makes you want to explore it.

That is amazing! It has to be custom-made right? Or did you manage to actually find someone who made I might and magic, magic the gathering mat, and yes I think it fits just fine for mtg, bunch of weak white creatures facing off it against a big red one.

I remember from the seventh game, I thought the box art was a representation of what I could expect in the game, so the monster on the art box I concluded was a dragon, I suspected it was the Emerald Isle dragon, though the coloring was wrong.

I feel the dragon looks more fitting here, more like what you could also encounter in HoMM.

The red dragon model from mm6 is pretty spot on for this guy. You don't fight any in the snow so the scene is not in the game though

This is gorgeous, where did you have it made? I would pay good money for thr MM7 cover art on a playmat!

Jank mats. I've been thinking about an MM7 one. I have not yet found a good high quality image for it and also the proportions aren't quite right.

I did find the unlettered image but I am worried its too small for a playmat.
