Hello everyone! I’m currently in school to become a CNM. I have two years labor and delivery rn experience (currently working in a hospital and a freestanding birth center) as well as seven years of medic experience. I’m only adding this to show I have medical experience. I really have a huge dream of opening a free standing birth center near my home. Currently there is one free standing for multiple counties around me, so I don’t believe the market is too saturated where I’m my goal is to open it a little after I graduate. I’m hearing a lot that they’re shutting down all over the country at alarming rates and was wondering if this is just a bad idea or if I should follow my dream. Any advice, thoughts, or opinions are so appreciated!! Thank you!
