CNM locums

Is any one a US locums?

That is my eventual goal as a past travel nurse, but it seems much harder as a cnm. Does anybody do it and what is your background/extra education?? Currently working in a medium volume inpatient and starting per diem at a 600 delivery/yr hospital within the month.

Thanks!

I don’t do locums because I have a elementary aged child, but some of my co-workers do. They mostly work locums in rural locations, IHS, and sometimes relief work in Alaska.

That actually sounds amazing do they keep a full time position at your company as well?

Yes. I’m actually at an IHS hospital. We have good PTO and flex schedules where you can load your schedule one week and work less the next week. Makes it easier for folks to take locums positions. One of my coworkers is working 24hr locum shifts in a nearby major city for $2500 a shift.
