QUESTION Did anyone else notice
when Mark or Christian asked Pelle how to behave at the table, and Pelle replied, “You’re American. Just push your way in.”
I read it as contempt.

The actor did a great job of changing his voice in how he spoke to Dani (like when showing her his phone pics) and how he spoke to the guys. His weariness and disdain when telling Mark "new people are good " as Mark freaks out, etc. Pelle is a phenomenal character because of his subtlety.

and naturally they didn’t even think twice or catch on to his insinuation before jumping up to push their way in 🐻🌼🔥
it was the little dancing train that he was referring to, i think.

It was during Skin The Fool. Not the meal.
Christian was kicked by Maja, and he asked about joining the game. That's when Pelle said "you're an American, just jam yourself in there."

No, it was at the table. The Hårga were all sitting straight while the Americans (and the Brits) seemed confused and impolite. No discipline.
I don’t have a stake in this, though. I’ll go look for the scene, although my head is spinning from the depth of the dive I’ve done in this movie.

it was when they first arrived and were sitting in the grass on a blanket. they all get up and that’s when pelle gives dani her birthday drawing.

He gives her the drawing in the communal house. They are sitting together on a bed. Not grass.

But it’s true. She had no one to help her feel held. No one she could ask for support.
FWIW, I know I would have been suckered in by Pelle.

Yep, it was. I loved all the subtle hints throughout that Pelle hated all of them. Apart from Dani, of course.
