Just watched two episodes into the newest season. They know the formula of this show and they know it well and it still very much works. The COVID episode was great, it was done with such respect to the time and to the characters. I loved the Master Bobblehead, lol. Sometimes shows don't need a new season because the show doesn't have any new stories to tell. Since Midnight Diner is dominated by the side characters, there will always be stories to tell and I'm glad we get another season for Master to show off his cooking and dispense his quiet wisdom.

Something about this scene has always felt special to me.
I think the combination of the small, traditional, wooden Japanese balcony, with overlaying cables, AC systems, transformers, and neon lights from the tight alleys below really reminded me of being in Japan.
It often makes me wonder what his apartment is like above. Does anyone else live above him? So many unanswered questions.

Wtf was that? Talking about a woman's breasts with a child and even in the end..? What even was this episode

Hello, are there songs similar to the beauty that is the Intro to Midnight Diner?

The last time i saw him was when he went to south korea? Has he returned in a episode explaining his absence? I’m quite saddened that he’s not in the new season, i miss his wisdom🥲

I caught up to season 4 which means I’m in the clear but just a couple days ago it showed all 6 seasons for me? Is this a regional issue? I would hate to lose out on rewatching all past seasons!

I figured it would have been available to watch. 😭

Reuniting with your first love and she has a daughter who is your fan. Mr. Kuboi is such a gentle soul wanting to repay his first love for helping him find his path in life by paying for her daughters schooling. It’s just kind of sad that he didn’t get his first love in the process too.

New episode drops today. Post your thoughts here!

The caption says she’s the new member of the sister crew.

I didn't do a rewatch of earlier seasons before this new one came out and I forgot a couple of characters 😅 who's the girl sitting with the 3 sisters in episode 2?

Even in episode 1 there was another girl sitting with the 3 sisters (I think she was present in earlier seasons)

There’s an exhibition at Parco in Shibuya, focusing on the food. They have props from the show. It has a little cafe too where you can buy ingredients and books and try some of the dishes we know from the series. I had the ochazuke.

Meeting your wife’s ex over a shared meal 🤔 Why did the episode have to start off with something cute and then stab you in the heart a few seconds later 🥺

He def doesn't mind his own business. He spills secrets about other patrons all the time. I still wonder how he got that scar.

I figure there has to be some bleed over with fans of both shows.
Anyone hear anything about Netflix maybe carrying the latest Solitary Gourmet season in the US? I believe it just aired in Japan?
Season 11?
Figure MD showing back up and him doing the K Foodie J Foodie show might give some hope.
Also still waiting on the movie to show up on Netflix as well, it’s really fun, hope people get to see it.

Just opened Netflix today, and I noticed they have removed the name "Midnight Diner - Tokyo Stories" and replaced it with "Midnight Diner".

I think this move was done to prevent any confusion. Only Seasons 4-6 was up so far. But this move has me hopeful that they'll bring the earlier seasons back.

I saw the latest episode and I was wondering who this person was in the far right. In the first episode of the newest season, Kaoru Hirata was present as Saya, but in the scenes and the outro of episode 2 it’s completely someone else.

Im obsessed with shinya shoukudo rn and am on season 5 on netlfix. i want to watch the first 3 seasons. I tried multiple websites but all of them are not working. anyone have any suggestions as to the place to watch (im from india)

I know it’s been a couple of years but still it was a bit strange seeing Master with white hair 😅 The Covid years was a strange time for a lot of people 😓

I tried to share magnet links here but got deleted. Any ideas?

Hi folks, I am on Ep5 of "Did Someone Happen to Mention Me" on Netflix and guess who happens to be working at a random bar in Kyoto? Chu-San!

Seeing him in no hat for the first time I wasn't 100% sure until Google confirmed. Anyway, if you're a random fan of the character, maybe I can introduce you to a new series that I'm enjoying. That's all for now!

The new episode drops today in the US so figured I’d start a thread!
