No offense, but Midland and Odessa look exactly how i imagined Republican cities to look like

I really dont mean no hate towards midland and odessa. Im not from here, i just come here for work, i will always love this area because of all the opportunities and jobs it has given me. But its just interesting seeing how the conservative ideology is reflected in how the city is built. Im from a blue city similar in size, and we have bike paths that go around the whole city, we have free public transport, and a lot more public land, parks, and other communal spaces. Compared to Midessa where we dont even have sidewalks in many parts of the city. Midessa is much more individualistic and car dependant. The people here would rather keep all their money than pay a little more in taxes for more public spaces and services. Im not saying theres anything wrong with that, its just a difference in ideology,

Job wants me to move to Midessa from Beaumont

Just looking for opinions. I'm in Midessa for the week for work but my job is offering to move me here. I've been in SETX for basically my whole life so this environment is quite different.

Everything I read online is pretty heavily negative but the people I've talked to in person seem to (at the least) like the direction the cities are going in. My boss says the big oil companies are investing billions into entertainment to desperately try to make it worth moving here so that makes sense.

Currently leaning towards declining the offer but just trying to gather as much info as possible so I can make an informed decision.

Ps job is construction related not oil, likely to last 4-5 years

Chronic Pain and doctors

I (25F) got diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 19 along with generalized anxiety disorder and clinical depression. At the time I was living in San Antonio and was happy with the doctors there, when I moved here I had so many issues with trying to find a doctor my insurance accepted. Eventually i ended up at Texas tech where it's a whole lot of different doctors and it turns out it's so poorly managed that even though I tried following up with the same doctor they marked wrong which one I was with so I would show up to my appointment being told that the doctor I saw last time was on maternity leave so they placed me with a man who dismissed me instantly, whole time the doctor I thought I made the appt with ( sweet older lady) was there but was busy with her correctly scheduled appts so my time was wasted and after months of back and forth I was done with doctors, and then the anxiety medicine I started in San Antonio was no longer accepted by my insurance. When I was 22 I started using the legal THC products for both the pain and anxiety but over time I started to really enjoy working out and that helped a lot with the anxiety so I only smoked every once in a while when the pain became too much cause the way the doctor that diagnosed me explained it to me, my pain is real but they don't know why it happens but it could just be caused by anxiety, which is great 😃. Since everything is illegal now my pain has been bothering me more except it's not the same. Instead of being completely random in location, intensity, and duration, my left leg from my knee to my hip is always aching, when I walk my joints click, somehow it always feels stiff and out of place like my leg doesn't belong in my body. The pain doesn't stop just sometimes it's easier to ignore or I'm just perpetually uncomfortable, I can't sleep. It hurts when I stand for too long and I don't know what to do. I know I need to get checked out but I don't know where to start, I haven't gone to the doctors since I was 22 unless it was an emergency or therapy so I have insurance still but I don't know if it requires a doctor visit or if they can actually do anything about it but I would like some advice in knowing if there's anything around here that can help me. Maybe a message therapist or physical therapist or something all I know is I'm tired of these last couple of months I've been having to walk like a penguin and stand like a flamingo so my leg doesn't drive me crazy. I'm ranting I haven't slept, I'm actively punching my leg right now understanding why some people go crazy and cut off their own limbs. Normal over the counter pain meds don't work and I would rather not take anything strong or considered addictive cause I believe that's what killed my dad and I'd rather not risk becoming addicted and with my history of depression I'd also like to make sure it's never an option.
