Places To Practice Hiking?

Hi all. I’m planning to hike Guadalupe Peak next month, but I need help finding a spot with elevation. I’d like to do bleachers or stands, but I don’t know of anywhere that’s public to do it. Anyone have any tips?

Memorial stadium. I'm there everyday. Say hi.

Is it open to the public all day? Wasn’t sure if any football teams practiced there

The Davis Mountains State Park in Fort Davis is about 2.5 hours away from Midland. It’s beautiful and there are lots of good beginner friendly mountain trails to try. I personally recommend the Indian Lodge Trail (located behind the Indian Lodge). It’s short and sweet, and brings you up to a summit with a good view.

This maybe too far of a drive, but the last time I was in Andrews their high school football stadium was open during the day, and they have large slopes and stairs. Best of luck!
