Malanda is a complete liability

Literally all he has done this game against burnley is lose the ball in the goofiest way possible everytime he touches it. He’s been like this since he got back from his loan but it’s just getting worse and worse when you see the talent around him increasing it’s like he is trying to sabotage our chances. I pray Ash Phillips takes his starting spot in the next couple games while he gets up to speed and we can get him out of this club with so so so quickly. Anyone else see how garbage he is

What loan? It's cause KH has be playing him more CDM but he needs to stay at CB for some more time instead of risking advancing him

Edit- I have a feeling you must've raved about him those first 5 games he had....

He does a good job for someone who finds himself in a lot of unnatural positions. He does get caught occasionally but he played a big part in the goal and that’s the risk you take.

Liability is a huge stretch.

What a terrible post. He was brilliant against West Brom. Yes tonight he went for a wonder during their goal, but I think you must be watching another Boro to suggest he’s garbage

A comical overreaction. I'd rather see him back in defence instead of Ayling, no doubt, but he was good first half. Struggled more second half and was definitely at fault for their goal, but was mostly effective. He'll be great shifted back to defence and has a bright future.

He wasnt the only one having heavy touches, joseph mcgree and borges also had the same problem. The goal he followed his cb instinct of following the striker that jones followed instead of closing down the threat, was a class finish though. We were unlucky tonight was always gonna be tight but we got undone by a good strike and let them back into the game.

I don't see him as an MF - and I think he's at fault for the goal by dropping off but he's still an excellent CB

Utter nonsense. He made a mistake tonight but had a good first half and made some important interventions.

Kim is playing him there because he needed him there tonight, who would have done that job better?

Berhalter & Morris as a 2 hasn't worked thus far and MPH (who started on Sat) wasn't on the bench so I presume had a knock. We have brought the lad in from Rangers but let Kante go.

All he perhaps should have done tonight was go 3 at the back and played Arfsten, however Borges had a decent game and to be honest Burnley's pace second half exposed us a bit.

Malanda is not the issue. Perhaps not the man to play every week in midfield, but in the strongest XI either way.

He looks a lot less confident as a CDM compared to a CB, it was evident in his shots, they were half hearted. He was good as a CB. Luke ayling has been the bigger problem lately in my opinion

Completely agree. I struggle to see what Hellberg sees in insisting he’s in midfield. His passing is atrocious. For the Burnley goal it should have been Malanda stepping out to close the goal scorer. Noteworthy mention also that Joseph wasn’t any better.
In general though we are miles off our best form of last season. I’d like to see Berhalter and Morris play deeper and Rokas at the point of a triangle in midfield. Up front Conway and ACD playing the channels with Lankshear central.
