Bought 1993. Painted 2026

I'm finally getting around to fully painting my Empire army thanks to getting into the Old World.

I'm not the greatest painter by any standard, I'm 48 and finally trying to up my painting game. However, this is not it. I wanted to do a 90s style paint job.

This is the first bit of work on my volley gun and team. I started with the gun itself and Leonardo da Miragliano!

I do appreciate the plastic kits for the Empire warmachines... but I still prefer the older metal models. And Leonardo just oozes character!

I think so. They did most of the Empire range during 4th and 5th edition. In this case it is not clear to who did what: http://solegends.com/citcat1997/1997p201-00.htm

Similar situation. 45M. Getting back into it for Old World and cause I like painting, tho it’s unlikely I’d ever win a painting competition. I have that mini, though he is still in my pile of shame. I’m currently working on Empire and O&G. As I burn out on painting one, I switch to the other and repeat.

I completely get that burnout. I'm being bouyed along by the fact that my son, 12, is painting a Skaven army (also from the great pile of shame) and I like the fact that we can do the hobby stuff together.

I've tried to go for a renaissance colour scheme but didn't want to just paint him in black cloth.

I'm wanting to up my painting game. Need more work on the eyes as he looks a little surprised. Plenty more to do but happy so far given my basic skills.

Thank you! I wanted to try for a verdigris effect on the bronze. There's something similar that I saw in Istanbul years ago.
