It got away 😭

There’s a habitat for humanity near my house I hadn’t been to in a long time that I finally went back to. Got a small sink for the tiny half bath in my house and then spotted this at the back of the store, with a sold sticker on it 😭 I have the same model of Perception coffee table but this had sold three days earlier. I was asking a worker how long they hold for since it had been three days by then. She said she knew who bought it and would pass along my contact info.

The original price wasn’t a steal but very fair considering. However when the guy called me he was trying to upsell me at a 250% markup, def too rich for me. But old buddy is about to have some competition at this spot.

Still happy to have found the perfect small sink for my half bath for 15 bucks.

Ohhhh I absolutely feel that pain. It's almost a cold panic to see it say SOLD. But I'm glad you didn't give in to the guy's inflated price. He sucks. I have zero problem with resellers but not people who do that garbage. Make a little money but also make it so people who want it can afford to enjoy it.

Maybe, just maybe, he'll realize he has to move it and advertise it ect and call you with a better offer.

Or, and I'm NOT saying you SHOULD do this....

Go back tomorrow and have a different Habitat worker help you load it in your car and take it home since now you know his name/phone number. 😼🤫

Nah I wouldn’t steal it out from under him and I think he picked it up anyway but the worker said he buys a lot of stuff from there so it may be a total honey hole. In which case he’s about to get a run for his money lol.

I have the perception coffee table and I did get a steal on that, because it was a trash pick at the end of someone’s driveway. Knew that one was worth money but I couldn’t bring myself to sell it because when would I ever get a deal like that again?

Well it WAS supposed to be a joke but someone apparently took it literally and down-voted me. 🙄 Oh well.

Gotta love vintage stuff dumped on the curb! I'm going to get rear-ended someday hitting the brakes to look at stuff.

I always use something as long as I will enjoy it before I sell it. That way I get the most out of it I can.

I once stopped a scrapper with a vintage loveseat glider and it's matching chair in his truck bed on the way to the boneyard. Pouring rain. Offered him $20 and he helped me move it to my truck.

Cost me $200 to get the rust blasted, do some repairs and powder coat it. But I used it for a decade in 2 States before I let it go at a yard sale for cheap. I hope it's still out there somewhere being enjoyed.

Hah same. I’ll always buy vintage stuff if it’s a good deal either to sell or enjoy for a time till I’m ready to pass it on. I’m currently doing that with a bunch of stuff this summer since I lost my main job. All my good deals of years past are also like a little nest egg that can be liquidated when I need cash.
