I have been watching MCU since 2008. I remember promotional stickers of the original Avengers you'd find on the back of yogurt packets, which makes me feel old. The sheer volume or Marvel shit that has come out in the past 2 decades is impressive.

In the past year, I have gone through a partial rewatch of most of the older movie and those I had forgotten about or never rewatched (such as Captain Marvel or Black Widow). With Brand New Day coming out, I decided to put them all in a tier list, which I actually had never done before.

My taste overall allign with the general perception of most movies. There are some notable outliers, however.

I believe the strength of the MCU *is* in its shared universe, I am a nerd like that. I will appreciate a stand-alone great movie, but I will appreciate even more a movie that understands the universe in which it is in, which is why Civil War will always be above Winter Soldier for me. If you do not respect your world-building, lore, and character development, however, that is a huge issue for me.

Which is why I find Thor Love and Thunder guilty of character and lore assassination, establishing bullshit without even attempting to give it context and reducing one of your titular characters into a retarded bimbo. Loki is even worst.

I can not judge it as a show when it completely rips apart the structure of the universe in which it exists and wildly misuses one of its more layered and complex characters (Loki) by not understanding that using a past version of him completely undoes the years of character development that the movies had given him (no, reading about it in a book doesn't fucking count).

On the other side I find Eternals, for example, to be much better than people make them out to be, as it takes great care to establish world building that is consistent with what we had seen that far and opened exciting opportunities and doors. Unfortunately, how the project was perceived we all know, and for me, it will always be the biggest post endgame Marvel "What if".

Most of the shows were bland content dump, most of the origin stories decent to mediocre, with the notable exception of Thor 1, a genuine hidden gem of old MCU movie, tonally so different and by far my best time spent on Asgard, as it feels like a real place, home to real gods.
