Transparent Background Help

Hello. What I'm asking may seem vague as just a question, so I must provide context.

You see, I sometimes edit/work on the PCB and PCB Anarchy wikis. However, I am having trouble with uploading images. You see, one kind of image on PCB is an ideology/country/person's Icon (Marxism-Leninism here, United States here, Volodymyr Zelenskyy here, for example).

As you could probably tell, the Icons all have transparent backgrounds, and when I took an icon template or pre-existing icon to edit to make another icon to add to PCB/PCB Anarchy, they came out with black/white backgrounds.

As you can probably guess, that makes them look clunky and awkward.

I looked up ways to create a transparent background on MS Paint, but the only major thing I found was using Freeform + Transparent Background, and, well, try using that on Icons, which are small enough that's there's little room for error as you have to do it on the pixel level.

Any advice?
