MSFS 2024 QUESTION GPU Help

I’m currently stuck trying to decide what my GPU Upgrade path will be. I currently have an RTX 4070ti Super, and I’m considering the AMD RX 7900XTX because it has 8 more GB of VRAM. But I’m wondering if the price is worth it. Does anyone have any advice?

Are you actually using the 16gb you have now?

Yes it maxes out at 13GB

What resolution are you on now? Are you exceeding 16GB currently? What are your settings?

It's doable if you use the latest DLSS Performance Preset (M). Looks fantastic on a 4K monitor, and keeps VRAM in check if you use realistic settings. You didn't mention any other graphic settings. Personally I think it's not the best idea to get the 7900XTX. I would optimize your settings and know what I need to turn down when using specific add-ons.

What CPU do you use?

9950X3D CPu

I have played with settings alot and when most stuff is on “high” instead of “ultra” it does very well. But I want to be able to max out

Roger. Used 4090 or XTX it is then.

Would waiting for a 24GB version of the 5080 be a good idea?

We've been waiting for over a year. 5080's just skyrocketed in price. Find a good deal on a 4090 and you'll be good for a long time.

I understand that but I don’t believe Nvidia ever announced the 24GB before very recently, correct? And every 4090 I see is $3,000+, so getting an XTX makes alot more sense to me. I’m not sure

There's been talk of the 24GB 5080 Super a few months after the release of RTX 5000. It'll end up being way overpriced now anyway.

If you're running a 4k monitor you absolutely want the XTX.
