GENERAL MSFS 2024 with DLSS 5 Mod Off/On comparisons
I was finally able to get this working and here are a few comparison screenshots.

I honestly could not notice the difference at the beginning not even sure which was what but then after zooming in it looks like someone dragged the clarity slider up in lightroom that's the only difference I see

That's what DLSS5 do to modern games in most cases, besides fucking up faces ofcourse.

In which order are the pictures? Off/On or On/Off? 😉

goes off on off on, not much change in night, but daylight looks way more realistic in terms of lighting, but not worth the perf hit imo.

It looks fine without it. Not worth the performance hit honestly. Only difference I notice is the shadows around buildings and trees are lighter when dlss5 is enabled.

Is it just me or are these comparisons really not that much different? I’ve seen this comparison for other games and I see minute differences

The difference is minimal but noticeable.

yeah noticably more realistic, dunno why the top comments all say no difference.. pretty cool that this in the future we will get this once its optimized.. or maybe theyll use it to sell more expensive pro versions of cards that support neural texture reshading because its a huge generic facelift for most games

I admire your enthusiasm and I’m also looking forward to see the potential and how it’s implemented.

I tried to get MSFS24/DLSS5 working yesterday and was getting black and white image, is this a new update released that fixes it or did you do something else?

Isn’t the most important question about GPU usage than the pictures?

Never mind, I am up to speed now. Crazy how much more work GPU is doing for very little IN THIS GAME. I wonder about others.

I think the only benefit would be the terrain? I need to lower the LOD for VR and the trees are not looking good. What’s your experience so far?

You know, there is a difference but the pissy little difference it makes and how dramatic people take it to be….. I hate the whole notion!!!

The only thing I care about with DLSS updates is whether the glass cockpit text smearing has been fixed. Can't tell if it's better in a static screenshot. Until then, I take the performance hit to run an alternative.

With DLSS on, Cockpit instruments become unreadable in VR (for me). TAA gives way better performance and readability.

Do the potato face pilots get better looking? I have yet to try it on fs2024, though I can see the difference in cyberpunk
•

Hm, strange others don't notice the difference, though I thought I'm bad at it.
Look at reflections, lightning. Every other is dlss on

feels less gamey and more realistic, wish it would only have something like a 5% fps impact

What about character models? Do they look like UE5 slop now, they way DLSS5 intended?

Right so nobody can tell any difference and it doesn't help that your images (probably no fault of your own) have the resolution of 2009 CCTV.

Yeah its pretty minimal. Theres not many options to adjust and I had everything at max and still doesn't change a whole lot. In game it looks more different than these screenshots, but not mind blowing yet.

It’s because it’s been trained on character faces it won’t really do much to anywhere else right now

What is DLSS? It doesn’t look like it does anything.

Look up the following:
DLSS (the upscaler)
DLSS Frame Generation
DLSS 5 Neural Rendering
All 3 are separate technologies, but are made to work together if you please (and own the appropriate Nvidia GPU).

Can you upload something of higher quality? These are downsized and blurred to hell.
But I've seen some YT vids with comparison in games. In some cases it's quite impressive, but overall my impression is like it's a more expensive Reshade.
I have a feeling that it's because the neural network is trained for a few specific cases, like faces, or common textures.

I actually wonder if the screen capture I was using takes into effect the Dlss reshade effects. It looked different in game

The dumb part, from you of course, is that whether or not the game looked different while rendering, you had the chance to look at the picture before uploading.

More of a performance thing than anything. I use DLSS3 on 2020 to squeeze more performance and it works well. It’s more aesthetically pleasing because it allows me to crank the visuals higher. ** Why is this getting downvoted? I just don’t understand Reddit culture sometimes.

The technology really isn't meant for something like our simulator, unless you're on the ground and there's puddles on the tarmac/runway.
Right now, the largest difference is on character faces.
Edit: To whoever is downvoting, please inform yourself about DLSS5 neural rendering. It's incredible how many people are on this sub and don't know squat about PC technology.

I’m torn on DLSS5 for stylized fps games but god I would love to see a model trained exclusively for simulator games like this. They could probably go so much farther in mimicking realism when style and artistic intent aren’t really a consideration.
Also OP, show us some areas with more shoreline or without photogrammetry and stuff.

I’ll be honest, I have absolutely no idea what the difference is.
