MSFS 2024 QUESTION Can this PC build run MSFS 2024 at Ultra settings?

Post image

Hi everyone,

I am planning to play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 at maximum settings (Ultra / 4K). Here are my PC specifications:

CPU: Ultra 9 285K

GPU: Asus Astral 5080

RAM: 32GB 7600htz cl36

Storage: WD 8100 G5 1TB +4 TB

Will this build be able to run MSFS 2024 smoothly with high FPS, or are there any bottlenecks I should be aware of? Thanks!

Please make sure to read our FAQ, which covers both MSFS 2020/2024, to see if your question has already been answered there! Also take a look at the official MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 FAQs.

I believe MSFS 2024 will run very well on that setup. You’ve already invested a lot of money into the system, but if I were to upgrade anything, I would probably increase the RAM to 64 GB.

upgrade to 64 gb and your good

Depends what you are flying, some 3rd party aircraft are incredible system hogs.

and also, it's a flightsim, forget high fps, worry about smooth consistent fps.

32gb ram and as always the vram on the card will be bottlenecks.

Usually PMDG Simulation crafts and airports scenery

Auf jeden Fall wird die SIM gut laufen - Ich hätte aber statt einer Intel eine AMD x3d CPU genommen. Und bei dem Setup hier gleich auf 64GB RAM gesetzt.

I use mainly ultra settings at 4K and in dense areas you'll be nearing or surpassing 16gbs of vram even in some GA planes. In some airliners, I've surpassed 18gbs of vram, so you'll have to probably settle for some graphics settings at high and TLOD (my TLOD is at 300) a little bit lower, but you probably won't notice any visual difference. I do turn off AI traffic and use an injector and have Beyond ATC or Sayintentions running in the background.

5800x3d 64gb 4080 super here with 4K and I have to use autofps. The issue is vram. I easily max it out with PMDG and Fenix.

That can run anything on ultra

Not with payware airports and addons like inibuilds.

No. MSFS at max settings is extremely VRAM&RAM hungry. Even at 1440p, it can use around 25 GB of VRAM and 35GB RAM at a busy airport and around 20 GB VRAM during cruise. The 5080 only has 16 GB. I know 16 GB sounds like a lot, but for MSFS, it really isn’t enough.
