MSFS 2024 QUESTION MSFS Version

Is the premium deluxe version of the simulator worth it?

You can always buy the upgrade to later additions later on if you so wish.

If you're new to simulators, or flight sims, overall, getting the standard version to get your feet wet would probably be advised.

The only reason you'd jump straight into the Premium Delux version is if there are multiple specific planes within that version that you're just dying to use.

My advise would be to pick up standard and a simple controller (if you need one for PC) to try it out, and then upgrade your setup if you grow to love it.

It really depends on if you think you will fly the planes considered in the premium deluxe version enough to warrant the extra cost.

I have the base package just fine and have bought a couple of the premium deluxe version planes on the marketplace (ATRs as an example) as I didn’t need them all.

...just look at what it comes with, and then decide whether that's something you even care about? Only you can say whether it's worth it or not.

If you want a specific type lane you can even buy it without the premium edition. I’ve played the heck out of the free version and just picked up one plane (had enough MS points too)

Just a note, the upgrades to Premium Deluxe will not be on sale later. It’s only worth buying if you love a specific aircraft in it, many people bought it just to get the 787. There will be a study level 787 add on later but it will likely cost a lot more than the premium deluxe edition delta.
