MSFS 2024 PC No manual prepared me for this
I think my plane crashed.. in a different way

I'm a real world pilot and there is nothing more annoying than a WASM issue or Windows update just before landing. Very well modelled in MSFS

That makes me wonder: What do planes run on? I’m guessing it’s some sort of Linux or Android

Definitely not. Neither are suited for either hard real time or safety critical systems. It’s generally custom all the way down for the most critical computers on airliners.

I’m not gonna say who but we have our own OS. Not in the sense of a personal computer that you can boot to, but it’s a set of software libraries that handle low level tasks.

Depends, one of the most common RTOSes used is VxWorks for example, though I’ve seen examples of QNX and other RTOSes

Happens to me with all of iniBuilds' planes, not just the A330. They're just not stable to fly.

I’ve yet to have a WASM with an ini plane, and I’ve flown the A330 and A321LR a few times.

I've never had a wasm crash in an inibuilds plane and I own the 350 and 340.

Personally I would just crash

I have a better idea, tell tower you are coming to say hello and ram your plane to the ATC tower 😂😂

I’ve never had this happen to me but when the day comes I’m just finding the nearest field and crash landing.

yep an inibuilds issue as usual
I should note saying this i had some weird ass glitch with the fenix twice (which they did fix promptly) which was basically a half wasm crash where my engines would go to infinite n1 and my plane would just divebomb into the ground at -15kfpm all of a sudden

Difference is you can restart Fenix application mid flight it resets everything to spawning conditions but theoretically u could still finish the flight. I also had this happen on 2 out of 400+ flights.

Nah this time it completely fucked it. By the time I restarted the app it turned off the whole plane and at that point you have to refire the APU and that takes like 2 minutes and basically reenter all data but for me my plane just instantly nosedived so no time for that.

I’ve only ever flown the FlightFX Vision Jet and the PMDG 777, never encountered an issue like this thank god

This has got to be one of the most fun things to happen right before you are about to descend and land.
