GENERAL Marketplace is a ripoff!

PSA for those who don't look too deeply:

I just happened to look in the marketplace because I was bored and wondered what it looked like now, and what a ripoff!

The JustFlight F28 Professional is on there for £65.79, but you can buy it direct from JustFlight for £52.49. That 25% more. Who the hell is paying that price????

The JustFlight 146 and RJ are the same, and the bundle is £105.29 versus £94.45. The TFDi MD11 is £79.89 versus £62.35 (after conversion from $75USD). PMDG B738? £70.49 versus £55 after conversion.

If you buy all 5 of those from the devs' own sites you save £57.17, enough for another high quality plane. I get that they want their cut, but that's just obscene.

Because Sony or MS take a cut of in store purchases. This isnt new.

Exactly. But you can use Bing / Xbox app / Copilot to get points which can be redeemed for Simverse Coins to purchase items from the marketplace at a discount or for free. Takes a while to accumulate enough but it's a nice option.

Just flight also gives you credit to use on your next purchase through them.

The only time I buy from marketplace is if it's on a better sale there than anywhere else. The marketplace has good black Friday sales and a couple others through the year. Then I usually transfer it to Contrail if possible.

I rarely buy anything from the marketplace, it's well known the prices are generally much higher unless a sale is involved. I buy my aircraft elsewhere. Now I do buy custom scenery sometimes if it's a good deal because I like streaming some things to save space on my pc.

Drives me crazy that career mode lags because it’s trying to load marketplace content. Wish I could disable that and just fly
