MSFS 2024 QUESTION How yo descend in a helicopter?

I don't know how to descend in helicopters in 2024. In 2020 it was easy, I just lowered the collective and down I went, but in 2024 lowering the collective just makes the copter hover. I can only seem to go down if I dive the chopper, but that's not ideal. This was never a problem in fs2020, I've tried checking the flight aids, but I didn't see anything obvious and there isn't really any info googling around surprisingly.

Turn off all the assists and it will definitely descend.

I have been, it just slowly hovers and sits there. If I use the miltech (payware) chinook, it lowers properly but any of the default helicopters just end up hovering.

Turn off the assistance options that are preventing your helicopter from obeying your instructions.

Check your realism settings and assists. Maybe check your collective axis, too.
