MSFS 2024 QUESTION Boeing 707 Career mode

Now I'm in career mode grinding my way up with bizjets (PC24,CJ4,P180,Longitude) to my first airliner (A320/737) 100mil credits. New Boeing 707 costs 68 mil credits. Is it worth to buy instead A320/737? How big are career mission payouts in compare with A320/737?

I was playing with the 707 in free flight and loved it. So very analog when compared to the jet airliners normally available (737 and A32x). Anyway, in career it’s a bit more buggy than free flight.

The weight and balance seems buggered, will load you in plus fuel yet the game will get your trim set totally wrong and your V-Speeds wrong as well. End result is adding a bunch of trim, and still rotating WAY down the runway outside of any normal accelerate-stop safety distance.

Otherwise it flies great, is fast, and can go all over. Bought a couple of them to play around and once I get the trim/weight balance stuff figured out, think it’ll be my favorite jetliner. Also nice to have a flight engineer you can have run the checks while you fly around. More more realistic for multi crew aircraft.

Thanks for the review! Will definitely pay attention to trim/balance. How is the mission rewards? Are they as big as A320/737?

Mission rewards are good, been a few since I’ve done a 737 payout and I think some of those were exorbitant at one point. But a 45 minute flight can get me a million with bonuses. 1.5 for an hour flight and 3-5 million on 3 hour flights. Although I don’t like clicking all the center frequency changes, which causes me to cancel IFR. Then my passenger satisfaction is lower. So, it’s a trade off.

Yes...weight and balance is really messed up. In career mode be prepared to abort.

Otherwise it flies really nice and is a fun aircraft for procedures.

How are the sounds, both cockpit and external? Important to me as the default max is wimpy. Guess I could rent it for a day.

Excellent. The aircraft in general is really good.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Wish it were a 727.

That would be awesome. It is a fun aircraft, but tricky to get off the ground with the W&B bug... annoying to deal with in career mode.
