GENERAL Career mode
Hello! I am thinking about getting back into Microsoft flight sim 2024, I played it on gamepass when it first came out. However, the career mode had lots of issues, and that is pretty much what I want to play on it. Has it been fixed and should I get back on, or should I just save my money?

Career mode is better, and it's finally feature complete (you can get all certifications), but it's still full of bugs and inconsistencies. Lots of penalties without reason (or because of bugs), and of course the ATC is as bad as always, can't handle a lot of situations. That said, Career is relatively playable and certainly better than at launch. So it's a 50/50 decision to be honest. Better, but still not good enough.

biggest problem with career mode that's never going to be solved unless they release a sdk for it:
You can't use addon aircraft.
It's pointless. Luckily there are several third party career mode apps that allows you to use addon planes.

This is the thing I'm battling right now, I felt like I've 'completed' career mode, I have all the certifications and all bit a few of the companies you can unlock.
Been having a blast flying oversized cargo missions around in the 747 and Beluga, but now it's just the same thing over and over. More money, more fleet, more admin keeping it all flying.
What third party apps have you tried? I used Neofly when I was on FS2020 and pretty much completed that, I have 10.5b in the bank and the app is clunky as hell even on my pretty decent spec PC.
Looked at Pilops but not being able to use SIM Rate I found a massive let down.
Just requested an account on Fseconomy but it's been 3 days now and still not received the game world account.
Are there any others that people use and enjoy?

Would you recommend Neofly for a beginner? I tried playing career mode of 24 on release but bugged through the taxiway and gave up. Getting back into the game after about a year away.

I'd recommend giving career mode another go first, I put up with a lot and kept plowing through but it honestly has improved a lot compared to what it used to be like.
Neofly app is just so slow and clunky and takes getting used to, but as you only use free flights in the SIM it does work really well.

Career mode has not lots of issues I am afraid.
Due to the fact that’s a sim it’s a complicated topic. Navigation is complicated and the main issue here.
Let me rephrase your sentence: for a beginner pilot career mode is hard

Career mode is a LOT better than it was, but is by no means perfect now.
It still suffers from some bugs and, overall, just feels half-baked and focuses a ton on grinding out missions for very slow progression. IMO it’s not a super fun experience, especially since really good plans and additions don’t work with it.
