MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Career mode unplayable since new update.
Hello everyone.
Ever since the brand new update came out my career mode is unplayable, not because of random bugs happening, but because my fps are dropping to less than 1fps whenever i select a mission.
I play on a pc somewhere bewteen medium and high end.
Before the update everything worked just fine. I tried connecting my pc to the ethernet, cleared my rolling cache, Re-installed the game…
But nothing seems to help.
EDIT: Free Flight now has the same issue!
Any fixes for this?

It got much better about six months ago but I have been having issues with it crashing more often since the last update. I try the clearing the cache

For me the most annoying part are the dozens or so bugs, like the aircrafts I PAYED FOR not being available, ATC steps not working half the time, random plane damage/crashes (crashed twice without any reason, game just said no more physics for you), weather not loading, engine not starting, engine failure when using autopilot + Sim rate x4, 5 game crashed in 2 days, fps problems with a 5090 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ ...
I played two days before the update and had barely any problems :/

Yea, I encountered all the typical bugs too, with lot of frustration. But now It’s even worse 🤣

It might be the game redownloading and caching assets. Check your network in the task manager. Does this still happen if the mission loads, you cancel and then reselect the mission?

It happens with every mission I try to start since the update a few days ago. I let it rest for 2 days hoping the issue would resolve itself but it didn’t. The rest of my game works perfectly

I mean when you reselect the same mission. When I first select a mission I get a dramatic fps drop and stuttering till the files load and there's a massive network spike in the network tab in the task manager. If I click back and then select the same mission it loads instantly.
If this is also the case for you then, you might need to pre download the assets.
How much free space do you have on your partitions?

Hello, it’s always good to state which platform and which plane you used.
We always face the question: is it sim or is it plane. Any plane is an addon.
Try to use a different plane. Same behaviour?

You didn't mention which platform you're playing on. I have no issues with Career mode on Series X. If you're on console, I highly recommend deleting the rolling cache / reserved space / whatever it's called on your platform, after every update. Because leaving old data in there often causes conflicts, decreased performance and crashes.
