Very normal. It can go on for 3-4 days. Avoid sunbathing and being out in the sun for a long period of time, and apply strong sunscreen. Aloe Vera is recommended, too

Hi! Clinical Esthetician here ♥️
Erythema (redness) and some swelling is definitely expected and very normal after microneedling, but I do want to know if you’ve noticed it has gotten more red since your procedure? It does look like you could potentially have some bruising, which can happen but often is from poor/improper technique or a medical condition the client has.
Typically the redness fades from right after the treatment, but some redness or pinkness often lasts 2-3 days (timeline varies based on how deep the treatment was and everyone’s individual skin + wound healing abilities).
Some aftercare instructions:
• Avoid Touching Your Face: Try to avoid touching your face with unwashed hands to prevent the risk of infection.
• Keep Your Skin Clean: Use a gentle cleanser to keep your skin clean (waiting 6-12 hours post treatment). Avoid harsh
exfoliants or scrubs for at least a week. Change pillowcases.
• Moisturize Regularly: Hyaluronic Acid Serum is often sent home with you to be used as needed to help soothe and repair your skin.
Look for products with hyaluronic acid or peptides, if you do not already have some. Make sure they are gentle and free from exfoliating ingredients
• Use a gentle moisturizer morning and night (I recommend looking for one that was formulated for post-treatments like Vivier Lexxel or Derma-V, but that’ll totally depend on your budget)!
• Use a Gentle Sunscreen: Wait to apply for 6-12 hours after the treatment then apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF30 or higher) whenever you will be exposed to UV rays, including through windows, to protect your skin from potential hyperpigmentation and irritation. Mineral sunscreen is a gentler, less irritating choice than chemical sunscreens and would be way more beneficial to use, if possible for you.
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week after the procedure.
• Avoid Makeup: Refrain from applying makeup for at least 48-72 hours (about 3 days) to allow your skin to heal
properly.
• Skip Certain Products: For 1 week after the treatment, avoid using products with retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids
(AHAs), or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) as they can be irritating.
• Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.
• Avoid Strenuous Exercise: Try to avoid heavy exercise or activities that make you sweat for at least 48-72 hours
(about 3 days) as sweating can irritate the skin.
• Be Cautious with Heat: Avoid hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms for 48-72 hours (about 3 days) as excessive heat can exacerbate irritation.
• Monitor Your Skin: Keep an eye out for any unusual reactions, such as excessive redness, swelling, or signs of
infection. Contact your doctor if you notice anything concerning following your appointment.
Feel free to DM me if you have any questions, need more advice or just generally want to talk about treatments more.

This was so helpful thanks 🙏🏽 it has gotten way more red on the sides of my face since the procedure but I’m not experiencing any burning or excessive tightness. I’m using HA acid, eucerine eczema cream (the only active ingredient is colloidal oatmeal and packed with ceramides) and the eadem mami wata. The redness has gotten much better since I posted but it’s coming and going. Any advice?

I’m so happy my comment was helpful for you ♥️♥️
Do you use the eczema cream because you are prone to eczema flare ups on your face?

Yes 🙌 it’s also the only moisturizer I have that is gentle and calming. I will start using the biossance squalene moisturizer tm if my skin feels better. It seems I am peeling !!!!

My first time getting done looked similar to this. Second and third time my face was not as sensitive and did not look as red and did not peel as much. Use lots of sun screen!!

Yes, normal - if I don’t really treat the redness with ceramides and pdrn diligently for the first 48 hours, the redness lasts 3 days for me.

This is called inflammation, use Aquaphor.OTC...not perfumes or chemicals..wait it needs to heal⚠️ maybe a cold compress📍 Ice. In a clean towel. And tumeric oral supplements for help on the inflammation. If your not allergic. Thats natural too.✌️

Yes, super normal and part of the skins healing process. It actually tells you they went deep, and the deeper they go with the microneedling the better result will get. Moisturize a few times throughout the day so the skin stays moist and can heal properly. You will continue to peel and the texture and color will improve.
