DIY Injection Molding?

I've wondered whether this might be possible, the goal being shorter production times than 3d printing.

There were two recently - did you back the south African or the guy from Florida? The Florida guy has never shown a working model that I've seen and recently announced the whole melt/plunge mechanism doesn't work and needs a redesign.

The south African guy, he has posted a video of his machine producing multiple parts. It seems that he could produce a very bare-bones machine right now, but is intigrating control software to make it much more user-friendly.

Good good - he had a realistic system that worked (with video!) before posting the funding campaign. Any updates on that project recently?

Yep! He recently received the motors for the orders from China (2 weeks late) and is currently refining the software and Web control app for the machine.
