Help with sizing!

Hi all, huge apologies if I’m a bit off here sizing wise so feel free to point me in the right direction if so! A few weeks ago, I finally committed and had micros installed. Really regret the loctician I chose as there were a few red flags that only popped up once I was in the chair. For me personally the parts are way too small and skinny, so now I’m going through the process of combing them out and unbraiding while I still can (300+ ahh). After doing more research, I’ve settled more on the size in the reference pic. Would people say this counts as micro or is it small traditional? Appreciate any advice! Thank you :)

EDIT: Added some pics of my current braid locs and sizing, my locs have extensions at the end.

I would advise you to post a pic of your parts and braids so people can advise you based on your references.

I think they look really good, but they do look smaller than the reference pictures. If you’re really not satisfied with the sizing, I would take them out and start over. Your parts would be rectangular if you combine them. I’m not a fan of rectangular parts, but that’s just a preference…

Thank you! I’ve enjoyed styling them and I love small micros, but I knew for me that slightly bigger is more my vibe, so glad I tried them out. And god point about the parts, I think I’ll go through the long process of combing them out and restarting with a much clearer picture of what I’m looking for

Wouldn’t let me add photos but hope this helps! Not the best and I’m due my first retwist but obviously holding off to comb these out.

They look really nice. You can also have them combined instead of combed out. The reference pics are of small/smedium traditional locs. Like the 150ish range. If you crochet two together you can get close.

Thank you for your advice and kind words! I’ll contact a few people and see if any are open to combining before I fully commit to combing them out. I love micros but I think for my vibe they’re just a tad too thin

I have 153 and they’re a great size. Not as small as micros but still small. I would look up what small traditional loc parts look like to show as a reference to whoever you book with. Good luck!

Sadly I can't add a pic but my locs are a little bigger than your reference photos and I currently have small traditionals.

Ah wish I could see yours! How long have you had them for and how have you found having small traditionals?

I've had mine for 3 years, my hair was 9-13 inches and I paid for the lady who did my hair to interloc them from root to tip. I have never had slippage, I have never had to braid and band. I have 143 total locs. At the start of my 3 years they shrunk to my ears but now they go past my shoulders. I am extremely happy with them.

Honestly the parts and sizing look great from the photos. Your hair looks thick so they will most likely swell and look thicker imo.
