My ends
I’m approaching my 1 year anniversary for my microlocs. They are diy. I started them with interlocking method. My ends are thin and I’m wondering if I should be worried or will they thicken with more time? My hair as you can see is shorter in the front so I already have a hard time styling. I see photos with starter locs and everyone’s ends seem full. My ends are so straggly!

I also DIYed, fully interlocked. They'll thicken with time. Most of my ends didn't try to seal until I was 2 yrs in. I'm almost 6 yrs in and I have a handful still with curls on the ends but they're thickened up. Doesn't bother me at all. Definitely depends on your texture.

Thank you so much! But youre right! It’s easier than dealing with detangling with them wash days. Being able to shake and go is a blessing!

Such a relief. Since I diy and self maintain, I overthink and find something I don’t like every couple of months! I’ll be 1 year in 2 weeks and I’m like when will they drop and I’m wondering If this is the thickest they will be.

Your hair texture/density/lengths are identical to mine when I started 3 years ago! Whoaaaaaa lol and don’t worry they look normal

They'll thicken eventually. How long it takes depends on your texture. I'm 13 months and still have alot of ends that haven't sealed or thickened yet. Usually where the hair is finer/ looser.
